Haihe River is the mother river of Tianjin. Tianjin is known as the "lower reaches of the Nine Rivers", and the Nine Rivers are the names of the Haihe River system in ancient times. The Hai River meanders through the city, and the meaning of Tianjin, like the Seine in Paris and the River Thames in London, represents the soul of the city.

When I was a child, my family lived outside the tunnel, through the rugged and dark old tunnel, the eyes suddenly bright, the Liberation Bridge lies quietly on the Haihe River, and the banks of the river are scattered with people fishing, photographing, reading, and talking about love. In the early 1980s, I followed my mother countless times, trembling and stepping on the Liberation Bridge, half a meter long plank on the bridge, stepping on it and creaking, through the gap between the planks to see the water under the bridge, sparkling. The rusty nails on the bridge deepened my sense of fear, and I dragged the corners of my mother's clothes, and I couldn't help but think that my mother had to cross the bridge every day to go to work.

In 1983, I went more and more frequently to the Banks of the Sea River, sometimes with my father, sometimes with my neighbor's aunt. Haihe river built a ribbon park, red flowers, willow green, lush, birdsong, the scenery is unique here. On the opposite side of the central square review platform, there is also a large light and music fountain, the fountain is large and small, with music jets, the water column is high and low, and the lights of the review platform are far away, full of beauty. Especially in the summer, strolling along the river, the cool breeze wrapped around the fountain of water droplets blowing in the face, cool and pleasant, like the wind free.

I remember that at that time, I often walked along the riverbank, looked at the various sculptures on the shore, and stopped for a long time in front of the sculptures, examined, and pondered. In the corner of the Youth Garden, there is a group of sculptures called "Youth", which left a deep impression on me. Four energetic girls stood in a row holding hands, their young faces full of youth. Later, I learned the significance of this group of sculptures, and many of the projects for the construction of Haihe Park were completed through voluntary labor by the city's youth league members, and the youth park was built to commemorate the "youth" paid in that period.

Sculpture called "Youth"

In 1985, Haihe built a water amusement park, and since then I have preferred to run to Haihe Square. After dinner, going to the Haihe River with my friends in groups of three or five is what I am most eager to do. Lean against the riverbank and watch bumper boats, speedboats, and shark cruises cruising on the Hai River. In the twilight of the sunset, the afterglow reflects the river, emitting a little light, and the waterfall-like fountain on the other side of the central square pours down, hitting the water and flooding with white waves. "Haihe Flying Waterfall" is such a grand name, when watching the 86th edition of "Journey to the West", the waterfall at the beginning of the film reminded me of this fountain.

Once a cascading waterfall

In the summer of 1988, my neighbor brother, who was at the same school as me, went swimming in the Hai River and never came back, and a few days later my father told me that he was in a place called "Erdao Gate". Since then, I have had a shadow on the Haihe River, and coupled with what my grandmother said about "looking for a substitute student", I no longer dare to go to the Haihe River to hang out. For a long time, the scene of me riding a carousel in the Haihe Amusement Park recurred in the dream, and the picture kept spinning in a trance, not knowing why.

Later, the two banks of the Haihe River continued to be transformed, and finally became what they are now. I'm also constantly getting old, and sometimes I wonder, how do people get old? Suddenly one day was called aunt, suddenly another day was called grandmother, the Haihe River is the same as before, the scenery on both sides of the Haihe River has changed for many spring and autumn.
