Calligraphy copy four diseases, see if you have been shot?

Nowadays, there are many enthusiasts who are new to calligraphy, but most people do not know much about how to learn calligraphy, because they will encounter many problems when they first learn calligraphy. If these problems are not solved, it will be difficult to obtain physical and mental benefits, and thus it will be difficult to maintain enthusiasm for calligraphy, and the excitement will become lower and lower, and finally abandoned.

Some obstacles are common in the process of learning calligraphy for the first time. Although I have often mentioned some of these issues to some young friends who are new to calligraphy, I think it is necessary to focus on this.

First: Oversized.

Many people tell beginners that at the beginning you must write big words, otherwise.... But if we think about it a little, we know that Wang Xizhi probably has never written a big word. What about Yan Zhenqing? Not much is written in large letters. Historically, most classic calligraphy works have a character size of less than three centimeters square. As for the principle, I will not go into detail here, we know that the size of the word is very important for beginners. Because the tools are not handy now, it is actually difficult for us to write as small as the original, so it can be slightly larger. But if it is more than twice the size of the original, then the way of writing is different from the original, it is a kind of creation rather than learning.

Second: Write too slowly.

Writing fast at first will gradually slow down later; but if you start writing carefully, then it will become slower and slower until your wrists are stiff and your body and mind are exhausted. Many people write like slow motion, claiming to be calm and leisurely. If you relax, writing slowly is not harmful to the body and mind, and can be counted as a way of nurturing. But if you try to learn calligraphy by writing slowly, it is impossible. It's like playing tai chi slowly and slowly, and it can never be used in actual combat. As for how to write quickly, it is not a question that can be clearly explained in one or two sentences, and beginners know not to write too slowly. So what if it's written fast and it doesn't look like it?

Third: it is too complicated to write.

Judging from the works of Xi Zi left over from the Han Jian and Dunhuang scrolls, the ancients learned words by repeating a single word many times to learn it. Yu Youren began to learn cursive at the age of 48, practicing only one word a day, but after three years, he achieved remarkable results, which was a very fast speed. Conversely, if we write a thousand different words a day, or change posts frequently, we may not be able to achieve it for ten years. There is no near-quick effect, and if you want to be fast, you can't reach it. Don't worry, the well-written word is grasped, and the badly written word will automatically follow.

Fourth: the method is too high.

There is a saying that it is called taking the Fa Hu Shang, so many people write Lan Ting Prologue, Shu Su Ti, Jiu Cheng Gong, Zhang Ronglong... These are all classics within classics, yes, but can you learn the results? Definitely not! The Dharma refers to a training system, not a simple inscription selection problem. At the beginning of the study, I started with famous posters, which in itself shows that there is no rule in learning. Regarding the beginner calligraphy post, there is a special blog post to introduce, in fact, there is a lot of room for choice.

The above common mistakes are both conceptual problems and drawbacks caused by tools.
