Since I started working in July 2014, I have been working in the grassroots police station as a public security police officer. In the past 7 years, I have always stood in the front line of law enforcement, continuously stimulated the enthusiasm for grass-roots work, paid attention to developing good law enforcement habits, focused on improving law enforcement case-handling capabilities, and realized the transformation from a law enforcement "little white" to a law enforcement expert. In the following, I will talk about some changes in law enforcement and case handling in light of my own reality.
Law enforcement case-handling habits are built from scratch
Although I am a police academy graduate and have also interned at the grassroots level when I was studying at the school, I was more involved in some security and patrol work during the internship, and I had not really been in contact with case handling before the graduation assignment, and the experience in law enforcement case handling was basically zero. It wasn't until I joined the work that I discovered that the basic requirement for law enforcement and case handling is to first develop good law enforcement and case handling habits. Through several years of work, I have deeply realized that the cultivation of good law enforcement and case-handling habits requires being good at summarizing, diligent in learning, and proficient in refining.
Good at summarizing. Regularly comb through and review the cases you handle. Record deficiencies such as incomplete collection of evidentiary materials, procrastination in case handling, and inadequate methods of evidence collection in notebooks, and "learn from each other's strong points and complement each other's weaknesses" in the process of handling subsequent cases, and strive to handle high-quality cases.
Diligent in learning. Make full use of spare time to strengthen the study of public security business and legal knowledge, make good use of case-handling assistance modules and law study and test modules in the application of the simple road cloud, and improve personal legal literacy.
Proficient in refining. Summarize and refine the ideas for handling various types of cases such as embezzlement, pornography and gambling, drug abuse and trafficking, and new types of crimes, find common ideas in personality, and use correct case handling ideas to guide the investigation of cases.
Law enforcement case-handling capabilities have changed from weak to strong
In the early days of participating in case handling, I was just a "little white" who studied behind the master, and I would be criticized for not recording the content of the transcript in detail, the logic was not clear, and there were too many typos, I would slowly progress the case because of insufficient review ability, and I would also be unfamiliar with the case handling procedures and the documents submitted for approval of the case would be returned by the legal review police many times.
With the increase in the number of cases handled and the accumulation of case-handling experience, I gradually summed up my own case-handling ideas in handling cases, abandoned the identity of "little white" law enforcement in the past, and gradually grew into a "case-handling expert" of my unit, and the law enforcement case-handling points were always among the best in the same competition group.
In March 2018, when I was working at chengxi institute, I hosted a drug abuse and trafficking case involving Zhaotong personnel in Yunnan, and dealt with more than 20 drug-related personnel, including more than 10 people under administrative detention, 9 people who took criminal compulsory measures, 5 people who were forcibly isolated for drug rehabilitation, and seized more than 180 grams of heroin and more than 150 grams of methamphetamine, successfully destroying a Yunnan Zhaotong drug trafficking gang entrenched in Yiwu, Zhuji, and radiating Jinhua, Shaoxing and Hangzhou.
After being transferred to Futian Institute in 2020, during the election of the village community in October of that year, I took the initiative to go deep into the villages under my jurisdiction, visited the villages in the key communities of the contradictions, verified relevant reporting clues, handled a case of undermining the electoral order as the leader of the project, and successfully destroyed a bribery gang headed by the candidates for village committee members.
The enthusiasm of law enforcement in handling cases is always high
If I first started as a police officer because of my ignorance and desire for heroism in my youth, then after seven years of actual combat training, I have a better understanding of the profession of the police: I found that the life of the police is not as exciting and challenging as described in the book and in the film and television dramas, and most of the cases handled by the grass-roots public security police are small cases, but it is precisely because of the detection of these trivial cases and the handling of these trivial and trivial matters that the satisfaction of our police among the masses has been improved. It is also more necessary for us to maintain a high enthusiasm for handling cases in the process of law enforcement.
I remember that in July this year, I just handled a car door theft case, although it was a small case, but when I returned the stolen money to the victim, the victim was very excited, saying, "I just did not hope to call the police to make a record, did not expect that the next day you told me that the thief was caught, the third day I informed me to take the money returned from the thief, thank you Yiwu people's police, living in Yiwu full of security, praise for the Yiwu people's police." It is precisely such a small case that, while enhancing the satisfaction of the people, has further stimulated my enthusiasm for law enforcement and case handling.
In the future law enforcement case-handling process, I will forget the past honors and start again, take the "three abilities" spirit as the guide, summarize the experience of case handling, maintain good case-handling habits, gradually improve the level of law enforcement case-handling, and practice the purpose of law enforcement for the people.
