Conrad Janis, best known for his role in "Mork and Mindy," was also a successful jazz trombone who died at the age of 94, as fox news figures can confirm.

Janis died on March 1, his business manager Dean A. Avedon told Fox News Digital. Avedon said the actor was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, on Feb. 28 and died in hospital.

Giannis was surrounded by friends at the time of his death.

"He's popular," Avidon told Fox News Figures.

"He was my client for over 35 years and he became a very close friend," the business manager added. "He'll be missed."

Janis was born on February 11, 1928. His parents, Sidney and Harriet Janis, were prominent art collectors living in Manhattan. Janis began his acting career from an early age, starring in "Miss Young" at the age of 13.

Janis is best known for his role as Fred McConnell in "Mork and Mindy."

The actor's career took off in the 1960s. He appears on shows such as "Untouchables", "Stoney Burke", "Get Smart" and "My Favorite Martian".

In the 1970s, Janis appeared in Barrettah, Happy Hour, Police Story, Jeffersons, and Lavin and Shirley.

His most famous role appeared in 1978, when he played Fred McConnell in Mork & Mindy.

Janis also appeared in 12 broadway shows. In 1957, he starred in "Journey to the Little Planet" and the revival of "Front Page".
