Ma Jingneng
Mr. John MacKinnon is the author of the "Handbook of Chinese Birds in the Wild", and his 2000 "Field Manual of Chinese Birds", co-produced with Karen Phillips and He Vinci, has greatly promoted the popularity of bird watching activities in China and related bird protection work, which can be said to have influenced more than one generation of Chinese bird watching enthusiasts. In January 2022, after a lapse of 22 years, the newly revised "Field Manual of Chinese Birds (Ma Jingneng's New Edition)" was published and distributed at the Commercial Press. In this nature lecture hall, Mr. Ma Jingneng, who is in the UK, will share his bird watching stories with Chinese readers through video.
Zhao Xinru
Ms. Zhao Xinru is a bird watching educator who popularizes professional knowledge, one of the early promoters of Chinese folk bird watching activities, and a core figure when the Beijing Bird Watching Association was founded. He single-handedly organized the "Wednesday Classroom" to popularize bird knowledge, trained many bird watching enthusiasts in the past 20 years, and promoted bird watching as a way to practice citizen science, building a bridge for bird research and folk bird watching. His editor-in-chief's Illustrated Catalogue of Chinese Birds was published at the Commercial Press in 2018 and is also a widely influential Chinese bird watching reference book.
Guan Xiangyu
Guan Xiangyu is the executive director of the China Bird Watching Association and a contracted photographer in the southwest mountains. Post-90s veteran birdwatchers, although young, have rich experience in bird watching, and the deputy editor of "Chinese Bird Atlas" has also participated in the creation of many bird atlases. At present, as a senior bird guide, he organizes bird watching activities and participates in bird surveys throughout the country most of the year, and has been committed to promoting the development of bird watching science popularization activities after graduation.
