When a president whispers a plea for his own people; when a head of state, filled with tears for his own country, I simply feel that his personality is great; his profession is noble; his image is glorious.

Although, he was often derided by Western gentlemen as a "short president" and a "coward of Serbia".

02 Two brilliant times

Historically, the Yugoslav people, including Serbia, have had two glorious moments.

On June 28, 1914, Archduke Ferdinand, Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary, was shot dead by a hot-blooded Serbian young man, Gabriro Princip, while inspecting Sarajevo. This seemingly fortuitous event, like a Spark falling into a powder keg, instantly ignited the whole of Europe.

Thus, the "First World War" officially began. More than 30 countries were involved in the war, 65 million people took to the battlefield, and more than 10 million people lost their lives.

A small person who wanted to break a suffocating window did not expect that after throwing out the stone, the whole world would collapse. And this, too, made Serbia's highlight moment, making this part of the Slavs a people known to the world.

After World War I, with the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia jointly formed a new kingdom, which was officially renamed the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929.

In 1941, a torrent of steel from Nazi Germany swept through Yugoslavia, and the nascent kingdom once again faced the fate of disintegration. However, the times created heroes, and in times of crisis, the Croatian Tito rose strongly and saved the country.

With the support of the Soviet Union, Tito led the Yugoslav people in a difficult anti-fascist war, and in 1945, after the war, he was indisputably elected Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and in 1953, became President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

During the long Cold War that followed, Tito truly demonstrated his strongman nature. The staunch Bolshevik, who grew up under the banner of the Soviet Union in his youth, dared to resolutely say to big brother's unreasonable demands for the benefit of the motherland: "No! ”。

From 1948 to 1972, for more than 20 years, the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia almost fought each other, but Tito did not compromise and called on the Yugoslav people to implement a national defense system and resist foreign invasions. In 1961, Tito, together with Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Egyptian President Al-Nasser, initiated the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement, which became the most extensive international organization during the Cold War.

Tito died on May 4, 1980, at the age of 88.

03 Disintegration

In the early 1990s, a wave of disintegration swept through Central and Eastern Europe. As a multi-ethnic socialist country, Yugoslavia was not spared.

In 1991, Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia announced their secession from the Yugoslav Federation;

In 1995, Bosnia and Herzegovina became independent. The former glorious Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, with only Serbia and Montenegro remaining, formed the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, referred to as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Out of historical grievances and strategic needs, the Western countries headed by the United States did not intend to spare the defeated Slavs, and with the help of the ethnic contradictions within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Western countries provoked the Albanians in Kosovo and launched an armed independence movement.

In 1998, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia sent troops into Kosovo to counterinsurgency, but the United States and its allies accused it of genocide. In 1999, NATO launched an air strike on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and the military bases, hospitals, bridges, and houses of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia suffered heavy damage.

On 8 May, NATO brazenly attacked the mainland's embassy in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia with five missiles, causing serious damage to the embassy buildings, killing Shao Yunhuan, reporters of the Xinhua News Agency, Xu Xinghu and Zhu Ying, reporters of the Guangming Daily, and injuring dozens of people.

A world order in which one country is dominant cannot tolerate justice. On the 78th day of NATO's indiscriminate bombardment, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia signed a "peace agreement" in humiliation, and NATO took over Kosovo.

Contradictions have been provoked, the situation has been blown up, and the tide of splittism in the form of the collapse of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia is irreparable.

In 2000, former President Of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Milosevic, was extradited to The Hague for trial on charges of crimes against humanity;

Montenegro declared independence in 2006 and Kosovo in 2008.

"Yugoslavia", the pride of the former Balkans, has completely vanished. Only the main ethnic group, Serbia, has become an island in Europe.

04 "Cowardly" President

Although Vucic gritted his teeth to meet a series of harsh, even discriminatory, demands of the European Union, there are two core problems that he cannot bear no matter what:

• The EU demands that Serbia recognize Kosovo's independence.
• The EU demanded that Serbia immediately cease its cooperation with China and Russia.

As far as the former is concerned, how can the Serbian people forget the 78-day indiscriminate bombardment in 1999;

If Kosovo's independence is recognized, then Vucic is not a "coward" but a "thief of the state".

But he still made some concessions on the second question. In fact, Vucic reluctantly abandoned some of the cooperation projects with China and Russia in the hope of gaining euwide recognition.

However, the EU is not satisfied.

The EU believes that Serbia cannot give up partially, but must completely separate from China and Russia. The reason is simple: Serbia is only worthy of being a tool of the West. Tools, you must have the consciousness to give up your thoughts and opinions, and you can't maintain your circle of friends.

No matter how Muchic compromises and concessions, the EU has never looked him in the eye, and only issued him a "blank check" when needed.

It seems that Europe is unreliable, so what about the United States? There is a beacon of freedom, the police of the world.

In September 2020, the situation in Kosovo was once again tense, and the "world police" were not happy. Vucic had to run to Washington to explain the situation to the "big god" Trump in the hope of gaining understanding.

06 There are clear grievances

Because Serbia, which has experienced the pain of national division, should empathize with what happened to Ukraine. But they became the only european country that did not condemn Russia.

What I want to refute is that the logic of this netizen does not make sense, because there is a fundamental difference in the nature of the two.

Over the past few years, the Western society led by the United States has imposed more than 5,000 sanctions on Russia; NATO has spared no effort to expand eastward; the West often holds exercises and reconnaissance on Russia's doorstep; they stir up dissension and play up threats everywhere to isolate Russia.

What is the intention of this set of combination punches? That's why the tragedy in Ukraine is born. When the avalanche came, not a single snowflake was innocent.

Of course, there may be a better solution than a military encounter, but this is not important. Importantly, if Russia is to survive, it must respond with all its might.

But does Serbia, a small country with a sluggish economy and backward industry of only 7 million people, pose such a threat to NATO? In fact, they just don't want their own Kosovo to be divided, but they have been brutally invaded by NATO.

I don't think Ukraine is comparable to Serbia.

In 1999, when a weak person was brutally bullied by a group, the whole world was silent. Only two men stood up and helped.

But time has passed, and now that barbarian group forces the bullied people to stand on their side and shell the former benefactors, how to choose?

If, as an individual, ungrateful and shameless to the point of unbearableness, then the person might as well have died sooner.

If a country is ungrateful and shameless to the point of being unbearable, then the country is really not as good as dying.

Vucic did not want to be shameless, and his country did not want to perish. Therefore, the president, who has always been "cowardly", strongly guards the bottom line. Despite French President Emmanuel Macron once again issuing a "blank cheque" to Vucic, saying that no matter how the geopolitics of Europe and the world change, Serbia is still the first country to join the European Union.

But Serbia's attitude is very clear: NATO forces still ask the mainland to impose sanctions on Russia, not because they think our sanctions against Russia will change anything, but because NATO wants to prove to the world that the Serbian people who finally have freedom in Europe can no longer be independent and their leaders can be conquered.

07 Future

In fact, whether a country is pro-US or pro-European; pro-Russia or pro-China is not important in itself. It is important not to lose yourself.

Vucic is not a fighter, and his country has no capital to step on the chariot of any of the great powers. But this in no way prevents Serbia from making its voice heard and taking a path that serves its own interests. Because, they have the right to survive.

In Vucic's heart, he only wants to be friendly with all forces and to interact with all countries. To this end, he did not hesitate to be a "short coward". But when reality is contrary to wishes, he can only strongly guard Serbia's bottom line and conscience. In his view, an independent country deserves a future.

Although Vucic is called a "coward", I believe, he is the strongest "coward"; although he is often shorter before the great powers, I firmly believe that in the hearts of the Serbian people, he is incomparably tall.

The principled Vučić, and the independent Serbia, must have an incomparably bright future.
