In the book "2016 Sketching of Mountains and Rivers accompanied by Man Weiqi" published by the online book collection company, there is such a passage: This is also the reason why Mr. Yaming and Song Wenzhi taught me 40 years ago, "We must absorb nutrition in traditional painting, and we must feel new knowledge in real life". Facts have proved that often the depth we inherit from the inheritance of cultural context and cultural accumulation, and the breadth measured in the experience of life and exploration practice, is precisely the distance we can innovate and move forward. This is also the biggest artistic purpose that I have always adhered to, and the most important artistic methodology. Because "the creation of foreign teachers and the source of the heart" - first observe and perceive nature, clear the state of things and me, in order to have a strong subjective consciousness, so for a long time, I have regarded sketching as an important starting point for my creation.
The book "Mountains and Rivers Accompanying ManweiQi Sketching 2016" has recorded more than 200 Manweiqi sketches, and from March 2016 to December 2016, he went to 13 places at home and abroad to sketch. (Zhangjiajie, Huangshan, Taihangshan, Lijiashan, Suzhou Garden, Australia, Russia, France, Cambodia, Japan, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Spain) I reckon that there are still some works that Teacher Man Weiqi did not enter the book. Among the contemporary painters I know, Mr. Man Weiqi is the "first person to sketch".

Mr. Man Weiqi was born in 1954 and turned 61 in 2016. Looking back at the several sketches organized by Teacher Man Weiqi before, I found that he was really energetic, brave and not afraid of difficulties.
Man Weiqi graduated from the People's Liberation Army Academy of Arts, majoring in Chinese painting. He was formerly the executive vice president and master tutor of the Chinese Academy of Painting of the China Academy of Art, a senior judge of the Ministry of Culture, a member of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association, and a standing director of the Chinese Painting Society. He is currently the president of China Ink Painting Academy, a national first-class artist, and a member of the China Artists Association.
