At noon on March 8, at Gate 1 of the "Bird's Nest" Stadium, Yu Yu, an erhu actor of the China Disabled Arts Troupe, looked back and forth wearing black lenses. Because congenital albinism has less than 0.1 vision in both eyes, Yu Yu can't see the visitor's face clearly, but a smile still floats on the snow-white face. On the 4th of this month, after completing the "Flying Kite" performance of the warm-up program of the opening ceremony of the Winter Paralympic Games, "In the Beautiful Ice and Snow", "Silk Road Caprice" and the emblem display link, she and the team were intensively involved in the rehearsal of the closing ceremony of the Winter Paralympic Games, she told reporters that the previous day had been rehearsed until twelve o'clock in the evening.

"Effort and Companionship"
"I'm probably always giggling, so I look younger." Yu Yu smiled and pulled the edge of the panda-shaped hat, and a strand of white hair slipped down. Born in 1991 in Zhangye, Gansu Province, she suffers from congenital albinism; because albinism makes people miss melanin, it causes the skin and hair to be different from ordinary people to be white, and makes the vision of both eyes less than 0.1, and cannot be corrected by means such as glasses.
Yu Yu said softly, "Congenital, not easy to change." But thanks to the high technology now, you see, the screen on the phone can now be adjusted three times larger. Every word on Yu Yu's mobile phone screen is very large, she said, "Almost every half hour of looking at the screen, you have to rest your eyes." ”
Yu Yu said that when he was in elementary school, because of his special appearance, he was often misunderstood by classmates and parents as a child with infectious diseases; because of his weak eyesight, his face needed to be pasted with a homework book when writing; after each homework, he rubbed a layer of pencil ash on his nose; after the teacher learned about his situation, he said that he could not turn in his homework because of "special circumstances".
"But I have a pair of strict and loving parents. My parents never approved of this 'special situation', and I was not allowed to compromise on my own 'special situation', even if I wrote slowly and laboriously, I had to complete my homework on time like other students. In addition, my parents also deliberately taught me to accept and share, and encouraged me to go out of the house and meet more friends. ”
For Yu Yu, her father was a guiding light on her way to growing up, "because my eyesight was too poor to see what was written on the score, my father helped me copy the big character score and write every note the size of a matchbox." So unlike other children, every time I go to class, I carry a stack of A3 hand-copied large characters. ”
"Why learn an instrument?" Dad said that girls learning musical instruments can improve their cultivation, Dad also said, no matter whether my appearance will be accepted by everyone, people's lifelong friends come and go, but the instrument in my hand can both listen to and talk, it will accompany me for a longer time. ”
"Shun Yi Girl"
"Hard work and companionship will bring strength." In 2005, at the age of 14, she won the first prize in the Gansu Provincial Disabled People's Art Show, and her erhu performances were selected to be sent to the China Disabled People's Art Troupe; after evaluation, she became the youngest actor in the art troupe.
"But in the early days of joining the troupe, I felt that my skills could not meet the high requirements of the performance. Obviously, I practiced very hard, but there were still all kinds of mistakes in each rehearsal, so I often cried secretly in private. With the help of the professional class teachers, I was the first to walk into the piano room and the last to leave every day, using more practice to overcome mistakes. ”
In 2009, in order to improve her cultural accomplishment and learn the broadcast hosting major that she loved since childhood, Yu Yu entered the broadcast hosting training class of the Communication University of China. "There are two biggest obstacles to learning, one is because my vision is too low to see the teleprogram, and I need to memorize everything in the shortest time before taking the photo. Another obstacle was my nystagmus and my eyes couldn't focus on the lens. In other words, when I see it from the picture, I am always looking elsewhere instead of the camera, which is caused by low vision. Even once, because I didn't see the camera, I realized the seriousness of this problem, which hit me very hard. Later, relying on a stubbornness that must be done well, I tried my best to practice my eyes and facial expressions. Countless adjustments and corrections, even if I can't actually see the camera, I have to pretend to be watching, and I have to be fake and real to meet the standard of being photogenic. ”

Yu Yu said that in 2011, a performance of the art troupe just needed to join the host's performance, and after evaluation by experts and leaders, she began to serve as the host of the art troupe. At present, she has traveled with the troupe to more than 70 countries and regions, performing more than 1,000 times. During this period, he has completed many important national performance tasks, and has been awarded the "Cultural Exchange Ambassador" by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, and has been received by leaders and important officials of various countries for many times.
In the art troupe, Yu Yu also harvested love. In 2012, Yu met Liang Ximing, a music director of the China Disabled Arts Troupe who would later become her husband, and they moved to Live together in Shunyi, Beijing. Once, she saw the orphans in the Shunyi Social Welfare Institute on the Internet, so she and her husband Liang Ximing took the initiative to find the Guangai School in Shunyi and teach music to the children of the Social Welfare Institute as a public welfare ambassador. In 2018, in the "Shunyi Girl" selection activity held in Shunyi District, Beijing, Yu Yu won the title of "Shunyi Girl" with "beautiful works of art and optimistic and enterprising spirit".

"In fact, I am really 'smooth'. When I was in my hometown, I had my father and mother by my side, and I was firmly supportive. Later met my husband in my artistic career, and now, our son is a year and a half old and he is in good health. Yu Yu smiled again.
