Cüneyt Ak r (born 23 November 1976) was promoted to international level referee in 2006 and has played in the Champions League finals for Juventus and Barcelona in 2014–15 and the Club World Cup final in 2012–13. It has enforced the three European Championships in 2012, 2016 and 2020, the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, and both have been enforced to the semi-finals.
The Turkish Football Association did not explain the reason, this "ban" is currently only carried out in Turkey, the European arena is still unknown, and Güneit Shakr has currently enforced 55 Champions League games, which is the most number of active international referees!
Güneith Shakr suffered the same "treatment" as 12 referees, including Ali Palabiyik, who was promoted to the international level in 2015 and Abdulkadir Bitigen, who was promoted to the international level in 2021.
