There was an anti-coalition general in the northeast, who was ragged and hungry, but he repeatedly built up his miraculous feats, beating the Japanese puppet army and fearing the wind, and people called him "the tiger of Manchuria";

The campaign he commanded was the only example in the history of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition that was both recorded in the history of the Communist Party of China and included in Japan's book "Observations on the Use of Troops in Manchuria";

He was ripped off by the Japanese with a bayonet, and the blood flowed away, at the age of 27;

His head was cut off and secretly stored in the Japanese Kwantung Army Headquarters, and it was not until 73 years later that he was buried together, resting in the black land for which he had shed his blood and sacrificed...

"Tiger of Manchuria" Chen Hanzhang's Battle of Hanliangling

This anti-joint general is Chen Hanzhang. This article is about the Battle of Hanliangling commanded by Chen Hanzhang.

"Under the mountains, shouting for days, many cars smoked, the devils looked back in horror, and the revenge gun penetrated the heart." This folk song titled "Cold Onion Ridge" sings about the ambush battle of Cold Onion Ridge... This has to start with the japanese independent garrison eighth brigade leader Sukekawa Kei'er was killed.

Chen Hanzhang, as the commander-in-chief of the Third Front Army of the First Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance, led his troops mainly in the Dunhua and Ning'an Jingpo Lake areas, and coordinated with the neighboring Yang Jingyu troops.

In the northeast battlefield at the end of the 1930s, the Japanese puppet army had an absolute advantage, and the anti-coalition forces could not compete with it in terms of equipment or numbers, especially the Independent Garrison of the Japanese Army, which was composed of elites drawn from various divisions and regiments, and was the most elite army unit in Asia at that time. However, Chen Hanzhang singled out the "hard bones" to gnaw, and he led the troops to attack everywhere, attacking villages and police stations, and destroying dams and railways. Chen Hanzhang used his troops like gods, often setting up ambushes after retreating, making the garrisons who came to the rescue miserable, fearing and respecting him.

In early April 1939, the Anti-Coalition Forces attacked the Japanese puppet army in Dunhua. When the commander of the Eighth Brigade of the Japanese Independent Garrison, Keiji Nakasa Kawa, learned that his old enemy Chen Hanzhang was active in the Area of XiaopuHe and Dadianzi, and was overjoyed: the time for revenge had finally arrived. He immediately ordered an army to attack Chen Hanzhang.

However, Sukekawa was too happy too soon. When the Japanese puppet army passed through a high ground in the south of the three barren ditches, they suddenly fired guns around them, and it turned out that they had entered the encirclement of the Third Front of the Anti-Japanese League. After two hours of fierce fighting, Sukekawa Qi'er was killed, and the remaining puppet army collapsed and fled. The anti-coalition forces won a complete victory, capturing more than 20 long and short guns and more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition from the Japanese puppet army.

The Japanese army was furious, and then intensified its crusade, intending to counterattack, and sent a crusade led by Matsushima.

Chen Hanzhang, who was proficient in Japanese, listened to the Japanese call, and combined the information sent by the inner line of the Dapu chai river before, Chen Hanzhang judged that the Japanese Songdao crusade team would take the Cold Onion Ridge and go from Dunhua to the Dapu Chai River.

On September 23, Chen Hanzhang led more than 500 soldiers to set up an ambush on the road from waist fork to Dunhua, planning to attack Japanese military vehicles. Who knows, the anti-coalition troops set off late, and when they arrived at their destination, the enemy's cars had already left, and the anti-coalition fighters had to watch the Japanese convoy disappear into the dust. Without stopping, Chen Hanzhang resolutely decided to camp on the spot and attack again tomorrow. The next day, with light rain, cold weather, and just overcast, Chen Hanzhang immediately led his troops to set off and marched to the area of Hanliangling. Hanliangling is a necessary place for the Dunhua Road to dapu chai river, and the shrubs are mixed and the forest is shaded, which is an excellent location for ambush warfare. "This is it!" Chen Hanzhang ordered the troops to lay an ambush on the spot, and agreed to use the sound of gunfire as a trumpet, and launch a surprise attack as soon as the gun sounded.

After a while, two enemy cars carrying sixty or seventy puppet troops rumbled past the ambush position of Chen Hanzhang's troops. The warriors were eager to try, but Chen Hanzhang did not move. After a while, the second convoy of the Japanese army swung past the eyes of the anti-coalition fighters. Some fighters were in a hurry, afraid of missing a good opportunity to annihilate the enemy, and turned their attention to Chen Hanzhang. But Chen Hanzhang was still as steady as Mount Tai, because he knew that the hour had not yet arrived. It wasn't until 1:30 p.m. that Matsushima's convoy appeared far away in the mountains. The anti-coalition fighters who had been holding back for most of the day were shaking their fists one by one, eager to rush out immediately. Chen Hanzhang continued to be silent, signaling to his subordinates that the best time had not yet arrived. When the enemy convoy drove to a downhill near the Dapu chai river, Chen Hanzhang gave an order:

"Comrades, rush!"

With a crisp gunshot, the Battle of Cold Onion Ridge began!

The car driving in the front saw that the situation was not good, and immediately forcibly broke through the fire blockade line as fast as possible and fled to the Dapu chai river. The second car was not so lucky, and was forced to stop after being violently attacked, and the vehicles that followed it had to stop one after another, and the convoy continued for more than 800 meters, obediently making targets for the anti-coalition forces. At this time, the sky was raining lightly, and the chaos was increasing, and Matsushima could not control the overall situation at all, and could only order the soldiers in the same car to rush back. In the panic, the enemy did not even have time to lift the machine gun out of the car, and could only use the short gun in his hand to deal with it with one shot after another. There was also a small group of Japanese troops, using the cave as a barrier, trapping the beasts and fighting, stubbornly resisting, but also powerless. Under the command of Chen Hanzhang, the anti-coalition soldiers became more and more courageous in the Vietnam War, and the Japanese army collapsed completely.

Because the first enemy vehicle had escaped by chance, Chen Hanzhang expected that the Japanese troops on the Dapu chai river would come to reinforcements, so he sent a company of troops to guard a small hill a mile away from the main position.

In fact, the squadron leader of the Japanese army city village stationed at the Dapu Chai River received a report at 10 a.m., saying that "more than 500 bandits moved from the east of the waist fork to the direction of The Cold Onion Ridge." Because of the fact that hundreds of Japanese puppet troops were stationed here, it was expected that the "big bandit group" would not dare to act here. But just in case, he sent a secret agent to investigate, and the agent returned to report that he had not found the enemy's shadow. As a result, the city and village completely relaxed their minds.

It was not until the fleeing enemy vehicles arrived at the Dapu chai River that the city and village, which had received an urgent report, hastily gathered their troops and took two military trucks to march rapidly in the direction of Hanliangling. "Parking!" About 1,000 meters from the destination, the cunning city and village ordered all the personnel to get off the car and walk, and launched an offensive from the main road and the mountain range on the right, in an attempt to encircle the main position of the anti-Japanese troops. Who knows, this ruse was already recognized by Chen Hanzhang, who commanded his troops to skillfully take advantage of the terrain and shoot down from the mountain with machine guns. At this time, it was getting late, the sound of gunfire echoed in the valley, and the Japanese cars paralyzed in the middle of the road were already covered with black smoke.

Chen Hanzhang expected that the enemy's car reinforcements would arrive again, so after more than an hour of fierce fighting, while guarding the rear, he commanded the troops to retreat in a roundabout way. The remnants of the enemy encountered during the retreat were also swept away by the anti-coalition fighters. All the anti-coalition soldiers withdrew from the battlefield before sunset.

At the Battle of Hanliangling, "more than 120 matsushima troops were devastated, and Chen Bu captured 1 heavy machine gun, 2 light machine guns, 2 heavy grenade barrels, 12 rifles, and more than 10,000 bullets."
