James Franco will join the X-Men Universe as a doppelganger in the new Multiple Man spin-off movie. The film will be directed by X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Ginberg.
According to recent foreign media news, James Franco has determined to play the role of a doppelganger in Marvel's "X-Men" comics. The character, formerly known as Jamie Madrox, is a mutant who was born with the ability to clone himself, and Professor X customizes a control costume for him, but when the equipment fails, everything starts to go out of control. The character had previously appeared in X-Men: Battle of the Bulge, played by Eric Dean.

The film will be written by Simon Ginberg, producer of Deadpool, Wolverine 3, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Wonder Woman screenwriter Alan Heiberg. Simon Ginberg and James Franco's respective companies will work together on production.
In addition to the Doppelganger's indie films, the "X-Men Universe" is currently filming and upcoming films, including "New Mutants" to be released in North America on April 13 and "Deadpool 2" on June 1, while "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" is also scheduled for November 2. Spin-offs of Ace of Cards and X-23 are also under development.
