According to China FAW officials, on September 25, according to the notice of the Central Organization Department on the appointment of members of the leading group of the group company, Comrade Zhou Zhiping was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of China FAW Group Co., Ltd.
According to public information, Zhou Zhiping, male, born in January 1971, Jishuiren, Jiangxi, graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology majoring in management science and engineering, doctoral degree, doctorate in management, researcher-level senior engineer.
Zhou Zhiping has many years of experience in the automotive industry, successively serving as the deputy director of the Motorcycle Department of the Development Planning Department of China Ordnance Equipment Group Corporation (presiding over the work), the director of the Long-term Planning Department, the deputy director of the Development Planning Department, the director of the Capital Operation Department and the vice chairman and general manager of The Southern Industrial Asset Management Co., Ltd., the director of the staff of China North Industries Group Corporation, the director, the secretary of the party committee and the chairman of the trade union of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., the chairman of the board, the secretary of the party committee and the president of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. General Counsel of China North Industries Equipment Group Corporation and Director of Audit Risk Control and Legal Department.
Since entering 2021, the leadership team of China FAW headed by Xu Liuping has undergone three changes: on March 2, Qin Huanming stopped serving as a director and deputy secretary of the party committee of the group due to his age; at the same time, Wang Guoqiang was appointed as a director and deputy secretary of the party committee of the group company, and no longer served as the deputy general manager of the group company; shortly thereafter, Sun Zhiyang, member of the standing committee of the party committee and deputy general manager of the group, was promoted to vice governor of Guangdong Province, and sun Zhiyang's name was no longer in the official "company leadership member" column of China FAW. The addition of Zhou Zhiping is also the third change in the leadership team of China FAW this year.
From January to August 2021, China FAW produced a total of 2,262,700 vehicles and sold 2,267,400 vehicles. Among them, the cumulative sales volume of the Hongqi brand exceeded 108,500 units, an increase of 108% year-on-year. In addition, from the perspective of production and sales in the past two months, the overall production and sales of the Group have declined month-on-month, which is expected to be affected by the shortage of chips.
Xu Liuping pointed out in his New Year's plan that in 2021, China FAW plans to sell more than 4 million vehicles. In addition to FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Toyota ushering in the product year, the independent hongqi brand has also undertaken an important sales growth task. According to the plan, China FAW has now completed 57% of the annual sales target, and whether China FAW can achieve better results under the leadership of the newly formed leadership team is crucial in the next fourth quarter.
