In 1925, former Real Madrid players Patricio Escobal and Felix Quesada were inspired by the London Corinthians FC club while travelling through England.
Corinthians FC is known for its famous black shorts suit, which is synonymous with their elegance and fair sportsmanship. To mimic the Corinthians FC, Real Madrid introduced black shirts in their previous all-white suits, but the change lasted only a year. They wore black shirts to the cup that season and were eliminated by Barcelona in a 1-5 defeat to Madrid and a 2-0 away defeat. Former chairman Pedro Parages then said the club would return to an all-white suit and said any deviation from the standard would be a bad omen.
