This year, the Yangtze River Delta railway construction investment to maintain a high level of operation, the current investment plan of 68.6 billion yuan, will continue to play a key role in effective investment, support the implementation of major national strategies, make up for the shortcomings in the infrastructure field, ensure stable employment of labor, expand effective domestic demand, and give play to the basic role of the railway industry in the "six stability" and "six guarantees".

In 2022, the Yangtze River Delta Railway plans to open the Hehang-Hangzhou high-speed railway Huhang section, orderly promote the construction of 17 projects such as the South Yanjiang Intercity Railway, the Shanghai-Suhu Lake Railway, and the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway, and ensure that the Shanghai-Yurong high-speed railway Shanghai to Nanjing to Hefei section, the Shanghai-Yurong high-speed railway Hefei to Wuhan section, the Tongsu Jiayong, Hefei-Suqian railway, the Ningwu railway expansion and transformation and other 5 projects will start construction within the year, and do a solid job in the preliminary work of the Three projects of hefei to Suqian high-speed railway Suqian to Sixian section, Pudong railway capacity expansion and transformation, and Beilun branch line expansion. Strive to have the conditions to start construction within this year.

In 2021, the Yangtze River Delta Railway completed infrastructure investment of 90.19 billion yuan, ranking first in the national railway for six consecutive years, putting into operation 585.2 kilometers of new lines during the year, the railway project construction adheres to the guidance of science and technology, strengthens the supply of original technology, and carries out 155 process experiments for 12 projects such as the Shanghai-Suzhou Lake Railway and the South Yanjiang Intercity Railway, solving a series of process construction method problems. The opening and operation of the Xulian high-speed railway and the Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway has further improved the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, which is of great significance to promoting regional economic and social development and helping the implementation of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. By the end of 2021, the operating mileage of the Yangtze River Delta Railway will reach 13,374.3 kilometers, of which the high-speed rail mileage will be 6,329 kilometers, ranking first in the whole road.

As a national key infrastructure, the railway has the characteristics of large investment, long construction period of construction projects, large scale of employment, long industrial chain, and obvious role in promoting social and economic development, and is considered to be the "locomotive" that drives economic growth. In recent years, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has conscientiously implemented the major national strategies of the Party Central Committee and the State Council for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, strived to overcome the impact of the epidemic, accelerated the construction of railway projects, and tried every means to ensure the progress and quality of project construction. At present, the Yangtze River Delta Railway project under construction has resumed work and production in an all-round way, the effect of stable investment has gradually emerged, the driving role of the industrial chain is obvious, and the results of employment protection are outstanding. According to estimates, in recent years, the construction of the Yangtze River Delta Railway has provided more than 100,000 jobs per year in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces and one city, and has also stimulated the demand for building materials, construction machinery and basic energy, and improved the employment level of upstream and downstream industries.

Taking the Huhang section of the Hehang high-speed railway, which is about to be jointly commissioned and tested, as an example, the construction investment of the line is about 37.027 billion yuan, and more than 30,000 jobs have been created since the start of construction.
