According to the official website of the Organization Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, the 39th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 15th People's Congress of Nantong City decided on September 3 to accept Wang Hui's resignation as mayor of the Nantong Municipal People's Government and appoint Wu Xinming as vice mayor and acting mayor of the Nantong Municipal People's Government.

According to his resume, Wu Xinming served in Wujiang, Suzhou in the early days, and after graduating from Nanjing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1992, he worked in the former Wujiang Municipal Party Committee Office for 10 years, and later served as the former director of the Wujiang Municipal Investment Bureau, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Wujiang Fenhu Economic Development Zone.

In February 2016, Wu Xinming was appointed as the director of the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and a year later, he was transferred to the Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee, deputy director of the Management Committee, deputy secretary of the Huqiu District Committee of Suzhou High-tech Zone, and later the mayor of Huqiu District and the secretary of the Party Working Committee of Suzhou Hushuguan Economic and Technological Development Zone.

In September 2018, Wu Xinming was appointed secretary of the Party Working Committee of Suzhou High-tech Zone. At the end of 2019, he took office as the secretary of the new Kunshan Municipal Party Committee and the secretary of the Party Working Committee of kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone.

On the afternoon of Wu Xinming's arrival, he presided over a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Municipal PARTY Committee. From April 2001 to April 2002, Wang Hui was a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia. From 2003 to 2009, Wang Hui successively served as the director of the Jiangsu Provincial Urban Development Research Institute and the director of the Village and Town Construction Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Construction Department.

In August 2009, the 41-year-old Wang Hui was appointed as a deputy department-level cadre of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and as the deputy leader of the Jiangsu Cadre Aid to Tibet, he successively served as the vice mayor of Lhasa, the standing committee member of the Lhasa Municipal Party Committee, and the executive vice mayor for more than 6 years.
