The pagoda is one of the important symbols of buddhist belief, and after being introduced to China from ancient India, it has become a marvel at the high-rise architectural art in ancient China. The two ancient pagodas standing on the bank of the Ganjiang River in Wan'an are not only a symbol of the long history and culture of Wan'an, but also a very eye-catching symbol of the most beautiful shoreline of the Ganjiang River.

After the Ganjiang River flows through Wan'an to form the Nine Curves and Eighteen Beaches, it suddenly opens up at the confluence of the Suichuan River in the lower reaches of the county seat, forming a wide river surface, which is the famous Luotang Bay.
Chongwen Pagoda is located on the shore opposite Luotang Bay north of Wan'an County, and during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty, Yuan Shifeng of Wan'an Zhi County advocated the construction of Chongwen Pagoda. Since ancient times, Wan'an has been "rich in products and prosperous in humanities", and is named Chongwen Pagoda because of its advocating literary style. Chongwen Pagoda stands on the right bank of the Ganjiang River, under the cliffs and cliffs of the tower, the water is turbulent, and the Chongwen Pagoda is full of silver, like a night pearl at night, like a beacon, easy to ship, people commonly known as "Pearl Tower". Wan'an Chongwen Pagoda is now a key cultural relics protection unit in Jiangxi Province and is included in the Dictionary of Chinese Scenic Spots.
Wan'an Chongwen Pagoda has nine levels and eight sides, more than 30 meters high, and is majestic. From the bottom up, layer by layer, the green brick hollow tower body, cornices, pavilion-style structure. Each floor has a hollow bucket window, and the tower door has a ruyi bucket arch, and there is a spiral ladder inside, which can reach five floors. The entire tower is made of green brick glutinous rice paste poured and glutinous, the structure is tight, after more than 500 years of wind and snow erosion and repeated lightning strikes, still stands tall. Chongwen Pagoda is the earliest Ruyi Dou arch found in Jiangxi Province.
Civilization Pagoda is located on the top of Shihua Mountain outside the south gate of Wan'an County, north of the county seat, west of the Ganjiang River, surrounded by mountains, with pleasant scenery. The octagonal seven-level tower, solid cornice brick tower, from bottom to top layer by layer. The tower is 20 meters high, the base circumference is 14.8 meters, and the diameter is 4.85 meters, and it is made of green brick glutinous rice pouring paste. The surface of the tower is grayish white, with hollow arches staggered on each floor, the eaves of the second and third levels are serrated, and the tower brakes are crowned with carved bluestone gourds above the seventh level. The entire tower is compact and is now well preserved.
According to the "Records of Wan'an County", the Civilization Pagoda was initiated by Pan Zunxian of ZhiXian during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. The "Wan'an County Chronicle" of the twelfth year of Qing Tongzhi published: During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, "the South Gate Table Zhongmen was changed to the Gate of Civilization". The tower is located outside the south gate of the county town, so it is named the Civilization Tower, commonly known as the South Gate Tower.
These two eye-catching ancient pagodas in the north and south of Wan'an County, with beautiful shapes and well-preserved, are not only a good place for tourism in Wan'an Safety Domain, but also add a brilliant stroke to the most beautiful shoreline of the Ganjiang River.
