Drama "I Am Not Pan Jinlian"

Mao Dun Literature Prize laureate and famous writer Liu Zhenyun's novel "I Am Not Pan Jinlian" is a classic of contemporary Chinese literature, translated into more than 20 languages and sold well overseas. After nearly two years of preparation, this highly concerned work will soon be put on the drama stage for the first time by Gulou West Drama, and the national tour will officially start in March 2022. On March 4th and 5th, the play will be the opening play of the 2022 Women's Arts Festival of the Guangzhou Opera House and will be grandly premiered at the Guangzhou Opera House.
Liu Zhenyun uses humorous language to describe a tragedy about women, "in a state of listening" to write a novel with female themes. The drama version of "I Am Not Pan Jinlian" is written by film critics, screenwriters, and script director Zhuo Beiling of the "1+1 Young Directors Drama Manufacturing Plan", which has continuity and innovation on the basis of the original novel, while retaining the profound absurdity and precious female perspective of the original work, so that the traditional opera image collides with the contemporary drama imagery, which is full of charm; it also makes Li Xuelian's role extend and vibrate with many female images in Chinese history and culture.
