The establishment of the West Double View has made it the most popular popular attraction in Jinghong. The village was rebuilt, housing prices soared, and Mandou Village became an expensive urban village.
Walk into Mandou
Mandou is located in The Jiangbei Business Circle of Jinghong City, bordering the Lancang River to the north, and to the east is jinghong's most popular internet red scenic spot, The West Shuangjing of Gongzhuang. Located on the banks of the Lancang River, it is located in the most prosperous business circle and tourism center of Jinghong District. Mandou Village has long faded the quaint Dai village style. In its place are towering residential buildings, which seem to have a cramped feel of a Mandarin duck building next to each other.
The century-old Dai village still can't see what it was like today. However, roaming the village, in some details, you can still glimpse the Dai customs left behind by history.
You stand on the street, and sometimes girls, aunts and boys dressed in Dai costumes pass by. Mandou Buddhist Temple
At the intersection of Mandou Road and Tourist Lane, there is a Mandou Buddha Temple, which was built in 950 and is the most emblematic of the Dai ethnic customs and village history in Mandou Village today. This is a typical Nanchuan Buddhist temple, with a dark red gilded Tallinn Mountain Gate, and inside stands a large hall with heavy eaves.
Diagonally opposite is a side hall with a small golden pagoda inside. The characteristics of Nanchuan Buddhist Temple are distinctive, with large areas of gilding, door eaves and roofs focusing on carving, heavy eaves and mountaintop layering feelings are staggered, and glazed tiles are covered and decorated.
In front of the Mandou Buddha Temple is a fireworks painting of Mandou villagers, and on the entrance of the village in winter, people sell seasonal fruits. Verdant sugar cane, oranges, rakes... There is also dai-style sticky rice at the entrance, which locals love to visit, and all kinds of sticky rice are wrapped in banana leaves when served with meat and vegetables.
Slow wheel Dai pottery
Moving on to the interior of the village, the style of the ancient Dai houses can still not be found here, and they are almost all replaced by plain cement brick buildings. Around the corner there is also a small building with a Dai style, which is a handicraft workshop inherited by the Dai people. Here there is a slow-wheeled Dai pottery making process that has been passed down for thousands of years by Mandou.
From unformed clay embryos to traditional Dai characters, gods and Buddhas, birds and animals, and innovative modern shapes, the simple and simple production process of Dai pottery works is conveyed. It still retains the original ecological style of Dai pottery from a thousand years ago, and the material itself is the most beautiful color presentation of the work.
