"Two prime ministers across the river, three yuan in a hundred miles, and nine soldiers in one door." Where do you think this is about? Is it Shandong, the hometown of Confucius and Mengmen? No, this is talking about Jiangxi.

Jiangxi, once the peak of education, is now a depression for universities. Jiangxi is located in the economically developed East China region, but there is not even a 985 university, the only one 211 university, or from Jiangxi University named after the province to Nanchang University named after the city. And Nanchang University has also been on the hot search because of the dispute over the abbreviation of Nanda University.
The number one university in Jiangxi is Nanchang University. In June 2015, Nanchang University issued the "Nanchang University Charter", the first article of which reads: The name of the school is Nanchang University, referred to as "Nanda". Nanchang University is a provincial university, and this charter is naturally weighty with the consent of Jiangxi Province. However, the abbreviation of Nanda University has aroused strong opposition from nanjing university alumni. Because the second article of the charter of Nanjing University is written that the name of the school is Nanjing University, referred to as "Nanda". Nanjing University is a university directly under the Ministry of Education, and its charter is also approved by the Ministry of Education. But Jiangxi Province and the Ministry of Education are the same level, and no one can convince anyone, so far, nanda has been used as the abbreviation of their own schools on the official websites of both universities.
Although Nanchang University is only ranked 78th in the ranking of soft Chinese universities, far behind Nanjing University in the fifth place, Nanchang University should definitely not be underestimated. In modern history, National Chung Cheng University, together with National Central University and National Sun Yat-sen University, was the top institution of learning in the country at that time, collectively known as the Three Middle Schools, and National Chung Cheng University is one of the origins of nanchang University. At that time, when the colleges and universities were reshuffled in the 1950s, Jiangxi belonged to the Central and Southern District, and the center of gravity of the Central and Southern District was in Wuhan, so the former Nanchang University was separated three times. Educational resources have been exported to 16 domestic universities, such as the Department of Literature and History, the Department of Russian Language, the Department of Physics, the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Hydraulic Engineering of Nanchang University into Wuhan University, the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering into Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Department of Civil Engineering into Hunan University and so on.
In the 1970s, Jiangxi once again lost the opportunity for the development of higher education, failing to retain the branches of tsinghua university, Peking University and Chinese min University.
When the University of Science and Technology of China moved south, it was also considered moving to Jiangxi. Unfortunately, there was no help at that time, and in those decades, Jiangxi's higher education developed slowly.
After the 1990s, Jiangxi began to exert its strength. In 1993, the original Jiangxi University was renamed Nanchang University after absorbing and merging Jiangxi University of Technology and other schools, and began a new journey.
In July 2021, Jiangxi Province once again reiterated its full support for Nanchang University in building a world-class university in the form of an important strategic document.
As of today, nanchang university has eight disciplines into the top 1% of the ESI world ranking, of which food science and engineering discipline ranks in the top one thousandth of the ESI world ranking, and has obtained an A grade in the domestic subject evaluation, while the School of Materials and Engineering of Nanchang University has broken through a number of key technologies in the field of new material technology, and some technologies have also won the first prize of national technological invention. For these reasons, Nanchang University was included in the Entity Sanctions List by the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2018.
Thinking back to that year, the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Bo passed by Nanchang Dengteng WangGe and improvised "Preface to the Tengwang Pavilion" to praise the Jiangxi people's brilliant spirit, and we also look forward to Jiangxi's colleges and universities, and also look forward to Nanchang University's great war plan.
