In addition, this Russo-Ukrainian war has also greatly stimulated the scholars and people on the island, because they have always pinned their hopes on the United States and hoped that the United States could send troops to intervene in the Taiwan Strait. Ukraine thought the same thing before, so it dared to challenge Russia's bottom line, and as a result, the United States did not move in the end, but continued to provide military assistance.
After all, the United States and Russia are both superpowers in the world today, and the collision between the two countries will certainly not be endless, otherwise no one will be able to step down, but what the outside world cannot understand is that the United States is unwilling to protect Ukraine.
In fact, as long as the United States sends troops into Ukraine, or claims that the United States and NATO provide security guarantees to Ukraine, then Russia will also have some scruples to avoid a world war. On the one hand, it shows that once something really happens, the United States will not interfere in the Taiwan Strait.

Since Ukraine has so many people, so vast area, the United States can give up for its own interests, or use Ukraine's 40 million population as cannon fodder for sanctions against Russia, is there any reason to think that the Taiwan region is different, and the United States will fight a war for the DPP and the Chinese mainland?
So this is precisely what some scholars and people on the island are very anxious and very worried about at present, they are worried, not that the mainland will close tomorrow, they are worried that the DPP authorities are bent on going their own way and are willing to be used as gunmen by the United States and Japan, these countries that are trying to curb the rise of Chinese mainland, and they are worried that Tsai Ing-wen will voluntarily act as a pawn of the West to contain China.
In this way, have the 23 million Taiwan compatriots become cannon fodder for the West again? At present, most people on the island do not have confidence in whether to resist to the end, believing that the United States will not send troops and is unwilling to fight until one soldier is a pawn. After all, the strength of the Platon Is obvious to all, and the future opponents of the PLA are also the United States and Japan, and the armed forces on the island are not worth mentioning.
Therefore, do not expect the mainland to turn a blind eye to "Taiwan independence," do not think that with the support of the United States behind its back, Chinese mainland will not dare to do anything, still less do we think that the United States will fight with China for the sake of Taiwan Island.
