On September 14, Senegalese striker Denba Ba announced his retirement on personal social media. The 36-year-old has played for West Ham United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Besiktas and Shanghai Shenhua.

It is with great gratitude that I announce that my career is over.
What a wonderful journey. In addition to the sour, sweet and bitter tasted along the way, football has brought me too many wonderful emotions. Whether it's the enthusiasm of the fans or the shouts from the stands after the goal, these will always remain in my memory and heart.
