Apple revealed that its new direct store in Abu Dhabi, Apple Al Maryah Island, will open on Friday, February 25, 2022. Apple officially announced its opening date after recently notifying Abu Dhabi local publications that its new Al Maryah Island store was about to open. Apple said the new store will open with "special programs for creatives, local businesses and families to experience."
"We are very excited about the stunning Apple Al Maryah Island that opened this Friday," Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's senior vice president of retail+ personnel, said in a statement. "Our talented team is ready to welcome and delight customers from this vibrant community to our newest location in the UAE."
Apple describes the new store as being located on a "stunning waterfront" that is "above the cascading water steps." The new store is located in Abu Dhabi's financial district, where Apple built buildings from Al Maryah Island's Kaidan Square to the water's edge.
For the first time, the store uses pure black granite stone in all Apple Stores. It also features a golden carbon fibre roof that is "locally sourced in the UAE".
Apple Al Maryah Island opens on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 5 p.m. local time. Due to the local and Apple's own epidemic prevention measures, visits to the store on the opening day must be booked in advance.
