【Story】 Qiqian Squadron is the seventh squadron of the Morduga Brigade of the Daxinganling Detachment of the Forest Fire Brigade of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, named after the Qiqian Township of Ergun City. This is a team stationed in the hinterland of the primary forest area, responsible for guarding 950,000 hectares of undeveloped primary forest and more than 200 kilometers of fire prevention and extinguishing tasks on the Sino-Russian border, and is one of the units with the largest defense area, the heaviest task and the largest number of fire fighting times per year in the forest fire brigade. Since the establishment of the team in 1963, they have insisted on stationing in the mountains, standing at the forefront, protecting the ecology and being the benchmark, successfully fighting more than 380 forest fires, and building a strong fire safety fortress on the Great Green Wall. Not long ago, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the All-China Youth Federation awarded the squadron the 25th "Chinese Youth May Fourth Medal Collective".

In the earliest days, due to the lack of mail, limited power supply and unstable mobile phone signals, the squadron was isolated from the outside world for a long time. In the days that accompanied Lin Hai day and night, the team members did not waste time, but seized all the time to improve themselves, carrying out hardy training in the ice and snow in the winter, practicing physical fitness and survival in the wild in the summer; on the days without training, the team members read together to increase knowledge and broaden their horizons. "It's useless to shout without moving. Do it yourself, hidden dangers are difficult to hide" "Establish a correct outlook on life, take every step of life well"... These reading experiences from the team members encourage the new team members to firmly choose their own choices, and also reflect the persistence and responsibility of this team that is not afraid of cold and heat and loneliness.

The wind knows the grass, and the fire refines true gold. The forest guarded by the Qiqian Squadron is the only concentrated undeveloped primary forest area in China, which is an important part of the Green Great Wall in northern Xinjiang of China, and has important ecological functions and ecological values. The total area of the forest is 950,000 hectares, and a large number of dead branches and leaves are accumulated, which is very easy to cause lightning strikes and mountain fires. The per capita fire prevention area of the team members is more than 16,000 hectares, about 24,000 standard football fields, and the fire prevention responsibility is large, the task is heavy and the difficulty is high. In the 1987 "5.6" mega forest fire, the squadron participated in the fire fighting battle of 7 fire sites, the length of the fire extinguishing line reached more than 400 kilometers, and the continuous combat lasted for 77 days; in the 2002 "7.28" super large forest fire, the team members dug out a fire isolation belt 0.8 meters wide and 70 kilometers long by shoulder carrying, pushing and pedaling, blocking the spread of the fire... At critical junctures again and again, the team members rose to the fire, charged in the fire field with a temperature of up to hundreds of degrees Celsius, and practiced the Zhengzheng oath of "protecting the mountains with green pines and cypresses, and the heroes' nameless dreams are also sweet".

From the "guardians of the primeval forest" to the "fire service team on horseback", there are many "firefighters" like the Qiqian Squadron, who are retrograde towards the fire field and charge towards disaster, writing the most beautiful "retrograde" professional glory. In 2019, in the forest fire in Muli County, Liangshan, Sichuan, 27 forest firefighters sacrificed their precious lives for the forest they regarded as treasures and for the heavy mission on their shoulders; in the Hohhot Fire Rescue Detachment of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the "post-90s" fire fighter Bartle, who experienced more than 4,500 life and death tests in the past 14 years, wrote more than 20 "fire diary", shining selfless "flame blue"... The fire is merciless, and the heroes are fearless.
