Hayley Rincon is an impressively talented creator whose work takes on a psychedelic vibe. Today I'm going to talk about her artwork and her own path to digital art.
Hayley is a visionary psychedelic and abstract artist in the Bay Area of California. She has been an artist since she was able to hold a pen, creating in both digital and fine art media. She was inspired by her experience using psychedelics as medicines in healing past trauma and exploring new states of consciousness.
Now let's dive into her creative process and her experience with NFTs.
Q: How did you learn about NFTs and what attracted you to create your own NFTs?
It took me a while to finally get into the NFT space. When I first saw some posts by artists I followed on Instagram, I thought it was too complicated and I felt like I couldn't understand it at all (I didn't know that NFTs weren't necessarily animated).
I started talking to NFTrippy.eth on Ins for a while and he was very kind to invite me to join his Discord and gave me a lot of information to help me install a digital wallet and so on. I thought that if he had such great faith in me and my art, it would be worth studying NFTs.
Coincidentally, I happened to be collecting digital artwork that I had done in the last year or so and didn't know what to do with them, so it must be so! He offered me an invitation to the foundation and I am very grateful to him! Then my NFT journey began!
Q: How often do you create?
I try to create every day. Even if it's just doodling or using my body to create the dance. It made me feel like I was living my ideal life.
What was your creative process like?
Music + hallucinogenic drugs! It's true, usually I have music and I like to be detached from the real world, so those hallucinogenic drugs can help me relax and get into that flowing state. A good meditation session is always helpful as well.
Q: Are there any CryptoArtists you'd like to work with?
There are many!! First of all, everyone in my Discord is great and I'd love to work with any of them! But what comes to my mind the most is Android Jones, whose work has been inspired by, especially some of the intense spiritual journeys I've undergone for his artwork and VR visuals. The things that changed my life, it's just not too cool.
Q: What do you think the future of digital art will look like?
Honestly, I don't know! I do know that there are a lot of artists and art forms that can discover new experiences through places like the metaverse, and I'm excited to see it all. It's incredible for artists, and we're sure to benefit from the world of digital art.
Q: What are you doing at the moment?
I'm currently working on some new digital paintings, and I'm also working on some new animations.
