Our design research subjects are located in the highest density urban environments in the world today, as well as in low-density rural areas; as a multidisciplinary design studio, we see architecture and space as the most important and ubiquitous medium between people and the natural, social and cultural environment in which they live.

In order to reconnect man with nature, we explore the unorthodox treatment of form and material in design, pinning on a desire for the humanization of architecture: by reintroducing pre-industrial/pre-digital-era craftsmanship in the design process, architecture and space become a mixture of rationality and intuition. We are also constantly exploring natural and industrial materials that can be recycled/recycled, and call for the preservation of awareness and sensitivity to the environment through innovative and unfamiliar use of them.

Ms. Zhou has 11 years of experience in architectural practice in the United States, Hong Kong and mainland China, covering project types such as cultural, municipal, hotel, residential, office, commercial and renovation of old buildings; she has worked on projects ranging from interior to urban design, from low-rise to supertall buildings, and is familiar with all aspects of design, technical coordination and project management.
Since founding Studio 10 in 2017, Ms. Zhou Shi led the team to complete the Party Building Complex of Qinchang Village Community Center, the transformation of the Party Group Activity Center on the west side of Qinchang Village, the small auditorium of Longshan Cemetery, Long-term Design: Thinking and Practice (2000-2020) Exhibition Space Design, Sea World Culture and Arts Center V&A "Fashion From Nature" Exhibition, 2020 Shenzhen Qianhai Future City Architecture Exhibition (and the Qianhai Branch Exhibition Site of the 8th Shenzhen-Hong Kong Urban Architecture Biennale) "Qianhai Superposition". Prior to founding Studio 10, Ms. Zhou Shi was an associate director at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC (KPF) Architects in the United States, where she was involved in the design of many large-scale projects at home and abroad.
Ms. Zhou Shi is a Registered Architect of the State of New York, a member of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a LEED Green Building Certifier. She received her B.A. in Architecture from Tsinghua University and a M.S. in Architecture from the Harvard School of Design, and is currently an alumni mentor at the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University and a member of the Harvard School of Design Alumni Committee.
