With the beginning of the school season, in order to ensure the safety and smoothness of students' way to school, the municipal public security traffic management department has increased the police force to strengthen road traffic diversion and control. At the same time, we will issue safe travel tips to students and parents, enhance traffic safety awareness, fully understand the potential traffic safety hazards of various traffic travel modes such as walking, cycling and riding on the way to school, "know the danger, will avoid danger", and go to school safely.
At the beginning of the school season, the weather temperature is still relatively low, and most parents will still choose to drive a private car to pick up students who have a long distance to go to school. Parents who drive private cars to and from school need to pay attention to the following matters.
● Minors under the age of 12 are not allowed to sit in the passenger seat. The Tianjin Municipal Road Traffic Safety Regulations clearly stipulate that drivers must not allow minors under the age of 12 to sit in the passenger seat. Children under the age of 12 should sit in the second row of the car, and must ride in a child safety seat and fasten their seat belts.
● Stop at a safe location, that is, stop and leave so as not to affect the traffic order in front of the school. Parents driving a vehicle to pick up and drop off their children, please choose a safe place to stop, do not stop in the laneway, crosswalk, sharp bends and steep slopes and other sections of the road to pick up students.
● Teach children to observe the situation before opening the car door to avoid accidents caused by reckless opening of the car door. To get on and off from the right door of the vehicle, it is easy to get on and off the left side of the car and be hit by a car from behind. The situation of non-mixed traffic on the road in front of the school is complicated, and many parents who drive to school park their cars in front of the school, and the children sitting in the back seat get out of the car at the car door and enter the school. At this time, if the child does not pay attention to the situation of the vehicle behind, directly open the door, it is likely to collide with the non-motorized vehicle or pedestrians driving behind. Remind parents to tell their children how to open the door correctly to avoid traffic accidents. Students should first observe the rear situation, drive the car to a small slit, do not open all at once, and then open the door to get off after observing the surrounding situation again.
● Be careful of blind spots and do not pass in front of other vehicles. After getting out of the car, you can't pass in front of the car you just got off, because the body blocks the view of the incoming car behind you, and it is easy to have a traffic accident.
For students whose schools are closer to home, parents generally choose to ride bicycles or electric bicycles to take their children to school. There are also some parents of senior students who accompany their children and ride a bicycle to school. The municipal public security traffic management department reminds parents that the relevant laws have clear age regulations for riding bicycles and electric bicycles.
● Riding non-motorized vehicles is subject to age regulations. In the "Implementing Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law", it is clearly stipulated that the bicycle must be at least 12 years old to drive on the road; the electric bicycle must be at least 16 years old when driving on the road. In other words, at the primary school level, only elementary school students who have reached the age of twelve can ride bicycles on the road. Students at the primary and junior high school levels, who are under the age of 16, are not allowed to ride electric bicycles on the road.
● Riding a non-motorized vehicle to carry people is exquisite. The "Several Provisions on Road Traffic Safety in Tianjin" clearly stipulates that those who are under the age of 18 who drive bicycles or electric bicycles shall not carry people; those who have reached the age of 18 to drive bicycles or electric bicycles may carry a minor under the age of 12 in a fixed seat. Therefore, parents who ride electric bicycles to transport students to and from school should note that an electric vehicle can only carry a child under the age of twelve.
● Riding an electric bicycle must be standardized to wear a safety helmet. Some parents know that riding an electric bicycle must standardize the wearing of safety helmets, but because of the "because of the proximity to school, they feel that they do not need to wear them" and "it is too troublesome to send their children directly to work with two helmets" and other reasons, they do not wear safety helmets for children with belts. The "Several Regulations on Road Traffic Safety in Tianjin" clearly states that when driving an electric bicycle on the road, the driver and the passenger should standardize the wearing of safety helmets. When parents ride an electric bicycle to take a child under the age of twelve out, both parents should wear safety helmets in a standardized manner, do not have a weak sense of traffic safety, and try to put the child in danger.
● Riding electric bicycles should be reasonably protected from the cold to ensure safety. Early spring is warm and cold, and the morning temperature is still relatively low. Here to remind the majority of parents, riding electric bicycles to pick up and drop off their children, should choose a reasonable way for their children to withstand the cold, under the premise of travel safety to keep warm. Wearing a safety helmet on the head can play a certain role in keeping warm; wearing gloves on the hands to keep warm; the upper body should be dressed normally for wind and cold, and must not wear the clothes backwards; the legs can choose to wear knee pads. Riding electric bicycles to wear windshields, wear long scarves for children, install windproof warm covers, wear jackets and other cold protection methods have serious traffic safety hazards, and reasonable cold protection on the way to school can make children warm and safe.
● Go your own way and ride in accordance with the law. Riding a non-motorized vehicle on the road should be passed within the non-motorized lane, and on a road without a non-motorized road, it should be driven along the right side of the road. During the ride, traffic laws should be observed, and the handlebar should not be held up with one hand or two hands off the handle to ensure the safety of riding.
● Students walking to school must not cross the road at will, do not climb over the barrier fence, and do not play on the road.
● Obey traffic signals when crossing intersections and take crosswalks.
● When crossing the road, cross the road from the crosswalk; when crossing the road without a crosswalk, stop two times to see three passes, confirm whether all vehicles at the intersection have stopped and then pass, and do not suddenly run when the vehicle is approaching. The most correct approach is to raise your hand and show that it is best to have eye contact with the driver to ensure that the eyes do not leave the car and the car does not start, so that it can safely pass through the intersection. When crossing the road, in addition to taking the pedestrian crossing, you can also cross the street overpass.
● Students who take the bus to and from school should wait at the platform when waiting for the bus, do not rush to see the bus enter the station, and hinder the bus from stopping normally. Don't wait before the front of the bus, 1 meter in front of the bus is the driver's visual blind spot.
● Queue up to get on the bus, wear a mask throughout the ride, sit firmly, can not chase and fight, can not put the body out of the car window, do not throw debris outside the window.
●When getting off the bus, carefully check whether there is a non-motorized vehicle coming from the right direction, and you cannot rush to avoid accidents.
● After getting off the bus, do not rush to cross the road from the front or back of the vehicle you are riding, and follow the traffic signal instructions to pass through the crosswalk.
Traffic safety on the way to school not only requires students themselves to know "know dangers and avoid dangers", but also requires parents to teach themselves to start from themselves, strictly abide by traffic laws, and set a good example for their children.
