As the "grandfather" of Guangdong comic strips, Hong Siwen has made a lot of efforts for the construction of the Guangdong comic strip art scene, supported and trained many comic strip artists, and created and published a large number of exquisite long and short comic strips and Chinese painting works.

Hong Siwen, born in 1930, is a disciple of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. He is a member of the China Artists Association. It is known as the Guangdong comic strip "Great Godhead" and "Grandmaster".
For more than 40 years, he has created and published more than 80 long and short comic strips( pieces), representative works include "Hong Xuanjiao Sticks to Jinjiling" and "Hairui", of which "Hairui" has a total of 92 paintings, which were carved in granite by Haikou City, Hainan Province in December 2012 into the Comic Strip Gallery of Hairui Cemetery for visitors to visit.

At the beginning of 1980, Hong Siwen founded and edited the "Weekend" pictorial, and for a time the "Weekend" pictorial was sold nationwide and became famous at home and abroad. At the same time, Pictorial opened a Guangzhou dialect comic column "Uncle Le and Shrimp Boy", which became a well-known comic character image in Guangzhou. Guo Zhiyuan, the actor of the TV sketch "Uncle Le and shrimp boy" that year, also came to the calligraphy and painting exhibition to congratulate Teacher Hong Siwen.
For decades, Hun Siwen has been engaged in editing and publishing, but he has never relaxed his own art creation, and in the past few decades, he has created more than 80 comic strips, known as the "grandfather" in the field of comic strips. When he entered his old age, he still worked tirelessly, spending 8 years, and created a long scroll painting of a historical figure of Foshan that is more than 40 meters long, which has attracted attention from all walks of life.

In May 2010, he was awarded the title of "Top Ten Cultural People of Contemporary Guangdong". In September 2013, he won the "Outstanding Contribution Award" of the Golden Dragon Fund of the 6th China International Comics Festival.
