According to the British "Daily Star" reported on February 17, Melissa Blair, a 38-year-old woman in the United States, was recently accused of luring a number of middle school students to have sex with her through the exchange of goods, and the youngest of these victims was only 14 years old, which made parents sad.
According to McMinn County police, Melissa from Englewood, Tennessee, is not an employee of McMinn Middle School, but volunteers at an after-school club to help the school run a cheerleading club.
Between the spring of 2020 and the end of 2021, Melissa contacted at least nine boys through social media to meet with her, but it is not clear what exactly she used to induce students.
As the investigation deepens, the local police believe that more and more victims will come forward to report Melissa.
On Feb. 15, McMinn County Police Department Sheriff Joe Guy said at a news conference: "As more and more parents and victims contact us, we are gathering more and more evidence and the scope of the investigation is getting bigger and bigger."
According to the Athens Daily Mail, on December 9 last year, the Tennessee Children's Service reported the suspected crimes to the police, and then the police rushed to Melissa's home to investigate.
It wasn't until Feb. 15 that police referred the case to a grand jury, after which an indictment was issued. Melissa's behavior was extremely bad, and she was charged with as many as 23 crimes, and finally surrendered herself to the police under pressure.
After Melissa's misconduct was exposed, the parents of the victims were devastated, with one of them telling reporters in an interview with WTVC News 9 that Eric Benninghoff did not know what to do next.
Further sources said the case will be heard on Feb. 28 with a bail of about $100,000 (about 630,000 yuan).
