Recreate the glory years through the form of stage plays

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, in the land of the West Sea of Shunde, the military and the people united to establish the first anti-Japanese base area in the Pearl River Delta, and under the leadership of the Party, they experienced thirty battles, large and small. The most famous of these is the "West Sea Victory".

The "Great Victory in the West Sea" was a brilliant example of winning more with less and defeating the strong with the weak in the War of Resistance against Enemy Lines on the Pearl River, which sensationalized the entire Pearl River Delta, thwarted the arrogance of the Japanese puppet army, and greatly encouraged the morale of the people of the entire Pearl River Delta in the War of Resistance.

The story of "The Wind Rises in the Cane Forest" is based on this real historical event and historical figure, starting from the perspective of young people, showing that the Communist Party of China united and led the masses in the West Sea of Shunde, igniting a vigorous wave of anti-Japanese resistance among the whole people.

In addition, the drama is supported by the "old drama bones" of Guangdong Province's performing arts industry, and the top domestic drama literature "big coffee" is strictly controlled, using a new generation of directors and powerful young actors in Guangdong. The play is performed by Wang Yuhan, a national first-class actor and actor of Guangzhou Dramatic Arts Center, as Zhai Yimin, Zhou Dingheng, actor of Guangzhou Dramatic Arts Center, Liu Weidong, former Actor of Guangdong Provincial Drama Theatre Wu Baiyu as Shangguan Lin, 2018 Pearl River Image Ambassador and Young Actor Huang Yuling as Zhai Shu, young actor Chen Sihui as Ah Rui, etc. At the same time, the 2020 Pearl River Image Ambassador Champion Ying Wei, as well as outstanding students from the martial arts performance major of Guangzhou University of Physical Education who participated in the actor selection activities in the early stage.

From the perspective of young people, create a red "youthful look" aesthetic

He Zhe, director of Foshan Television, introduced that in terms of creation, the drama breaks the single narrative plot, gets rid of the face of the characters, invites the historical figures who are high above the "altar", enters the hearts of every audience, and strives to create a red "youth-like" aesthetic.

In terms of expression, the use of "song and dance" and "kung fu" elements is interspersed. In the play, you can hear the authentic dragon boat rapping, see shunde's unique traditional folk customs, artistic labor scenes, the beautiful pastoral scenery of the "Sanji Fish Pond" in the Lingnan countryside, and the battle portrayal composed of sound, light and electricity combined with martial arts performances.

Xing Yingying, full-time vice chairman of the Guangdong Television Artists Association, said after watching it that she was very excited to see such an exciting work, and the creative team used a lot of techniques to make the audience feel the red history very well. Zhang Quan, a member of the presidium of the Guangdong Writers Association and chairman of the Foshan Writers Association, said: "This drama is very grounded, has the taste of the pearl river delta water town, and at the same time shows the revolutionary spirit of the foshan people and the feelings of home and country. ”

Sheng Hui, vice president of the Foshan Art Creation Institute and writer, said: "The personality of each character is three-dimensional and very humane. There are also elements of kung fu in the play, and the story of the anti-Japanese resistance of martial artists in Foshan is very rich, and you can also dig into this drama to make this drama a fine product that goes to the whole country. ”

The creation of literary and artistic works is fully integrated with the resources of all parties

According to reports, the stage play "Wind Rises cane forest" is a 2019 Foshan literary and artistic boutique support project, and it is also an active exploration and new attempt in the field of stage art by Foshan TV Station from the people's demand for fine literature and art, which is an important step in the integration and development of multiple industries. It is hoped that with the help of stage art forms, more young people will remember history, do not forget the red years, and inspire future generations to forge ahead.
