According to the Notice of the General Office of the State Council forwarding the Opinions of the National Development and Reform Commission on Promoting the Standardized and Healthy Development of Characteristic Towns (Guo Ban Fa [2020] No. 33), the Notice of the National Development and Reform Commission and Other Ten Ministries and Commissions on Printing and Distributing the Guidelines for the Standardized and Healthy Development of National Characteristic Towns (Development and Reform Planning [2021] No. 1383) and the requirements for the creation of characteristic towns in Shandong Province, the provincial government has determined that 93 characteristic towns, such as the glass intelligent manufacturing characteristic town in Yuhuangmiao Town, Shanghe County, Jinan City, will be included in the list of provincial characteristic towns for unified management. The list is hereby published.
All levels and departments should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, further improve understanding, consolidate responsibilities, accurately grasp the development positioning of characteristic towns, rationally plan the spatial layout of characteristic towns, do fine and strong leading industries in characteristic towns, highlight characteristic quality, continue to innovate and improve, strictly supervise and assess, effectively promote the standardized and healthy development of characteristic towns, and build characteristic towns into new platforms for high-quality economic development, new carriers for new urbanization construction, and new fulcrums for urban-rural integration and development. Where the list of characteristic towns created and named provincial-level characteristic towns previously announced is inconsistent with this notice, this notice shall prevail.
