Reporter: Yu Meikang's feed sector in 2021 is advancing so rapidly, and what kind of overall planning is the layout of the three major aquaculture markets in central China, south China and east China?

Liu Shaochun: Subjectively, there are several major links in aquatic products that have a profound impact on the success of aquaculture. Such as: seed, feed, breeding mode and breeding management. Strictly speaking, animal protection is only one of the links in the process of aquaculture management. I and my team members at Yumeikang have always had a clear understanding of this. From the very beginning, we have clearly defined the future direction of Yumeikang, which must be towards the development of the whole industrial chain, and is not too biased towards a certain field. Aquaculture is a comprehensive, scientific and systematic process, just in a certain field to do fine, does not mean that aquaculture can be successful, we have to use a scientific eye to see the entire industry.

Objectively, there are many feed factories on the market, large and small, but the feed industry is still in a chaotic state. At the beginning, we were not very familiar with it, and it just so happened that Yumeikang was also in a period of rapid expansion in the field of animal protection, and it was indeed necessary to take into account feed production. Therefore, at the beginning, we did not plan our own production, but wanted to make up for the shortcomings through OEM, and then refine the process continuously. So we found a lot of companies OEM, but after cooperation found that many times the feed produced by the foundry is not ideal, including many large companies to make products, but also failed to achieve our expected goals.

To this end, we have to re-evaluate whether we want to take the road of self-built factories and independent production. For the OEM products can not achieve the expected effect, we did a detailed investigation and analysis, found that there are three main reasons:

First, it is clear that the feed to be made by Yumeikang is a functional material, especially a functional material containing Chinese herbal medicine. Because of the particularity of Chinese herbal medicine, it is necessary to achieve a better use effect through special processes such as boiling. If you just crush the mixture directly, the effect will be greatly reduced. And Chinese herbal medicine is a core technical key of feed substitution resistance, if there is no Chinese herbal medicine functional material, customers want to achieve the same effect, can only do it themselves, a variety of operations and time costs are undoubtedly aggravated by their daily work burden. Therefore, Yu Meikang decided to make the active ingredient of Chinese herbal medicine into the feed. Due to various reasons in the early stage, the production process of many feed factories cannot meet our production requirements for Chinese herbal functional materials. Therefore, in the beginning, we had to produce this functional material under the limited conditions of our own factory in Hunan. "It is better to seek others than to seek oneself" This also strengthens our original intention of taking the road of building our own factories.

Second, from the needs of dealers and farmers. Their pursuit has always been high-quality and genuine feed. Our dealers and farmers have always trusted Yumeikang's brand and sincerely hope that Yumeikang can fill the gap in the feed sector as soon as possible. A dealer who has cooperated for many years has frankly said that in the past eight years, he has trusted Yumeikang's animal protection products. Before there was no Yumeikang, no manufacturer could really put our minds at ease. The same problem also exists in feed products, but there is no such thing as Yumeikang in the feed, which can really make people feel at ease.

It is precisely out of the desire to live up to the expectations of the majority of customers and friends. We just began to develop and produce feed, after a year of in-depth experience, we found that the feed as we expected in the early stage, the production difficulty is not too big, as long as we have a good process and a good R & D team can make a good feed. At the same time, in the actual breeding process of the self-built breeding base, we found good feed and poor feed, and the breeding effect was very different. For example: crayfish, good feed can raise 500 to 600 kg / mu, and it is a large size; and bad feed only harvests more than 100 kg / mu. The same is true of other cultured species. This also strengthens our determination to urgently establish an autonomous feed production platform.

Third, out of strong self-confidence in its own "Yumeikang" brand image and word-of-mouth strength. Yumeikang has widely established the brand image and good reputation in the hearts of farmers and distributors for many years, and every step of the way behind it has been backed by the support of many customers, and this trust has also given us the courage to establish a new feed production platform. Since our customers trust us, we should do better and we must do better!

Three factories were created in three months to refresh the "Yumeikang Speed" again

Reporter: Even so, yu meikang's creation of three factories in just three months is really breathtaking! If you want to complete such a feat, in addition to having strong financial and material resources, you also need to have great courage, I believe that everyone is marveling at the same time, but also thinking about Yu Meikang's rapid expansion, what is the intention?

Liu Shaochun: On the surface, it seems to have suddenly erupted into a high-pitched progress, but in fact, it has also experienced a long period of precipitation and accumulation. The main reason why Yumeikang was able to establish three factories in such a short period of time is that the smooth operation of the factory in Hunan this year has brought us great confidence. The plant brought more than 20,000 tons of sales in its first year, and achieved profitability in the first year, and is expected to sell more than 50,000 tons next year. Profitability can be achieved in the first year of construction, and it is a difficult goal to achieve even in the new factories expanded by established companies in the industry.

In addition, we have always adhered to the concept of "doing a good job in products, doing a good job in feed". From the very beginning, our focus is not on fighting a meaningless price war, but on the quality and quality of feed, and we are more concerned about the improvement of feed benefits for customers in actual breeding. It is precisely from the successful attempt of the Hunan factory, coupled with the good cooperation foundation between us and the Fumeikang team, and the continuous joining of like-minded partners, adding bricks and tiles to the common development, under the premise of "the time and place are favorable", we can open three factories in a row, but it is only a trend.

It's light to say, but it's not all smooth sailing. For example, in the process of research and development, in the internal communication with the research and development department, it is found that there is often a deviation between the actual demand and the product development. The R & D personnel are from the class, with many years of theoretical knowledge accumulation, the formula is also professional, fully in line with the requirements of commercial formula production. However, in the face of changing farming practices, such a formula is inevitably a bit rigid, divorced from market demand, and cannot really meet the actual situation of aquaculture. Therefore, whenever there is unexpected feedback, the R & D members will inevitably have a voice of criticism after a long time, but after that, they will quickly adjust their mentality and actively cooperate with the adjustment formula. Constant "picking thorns" is actually a good thing, only continuous communication and collision, in order to continue to empathize and improve, research and development of products more suitable for the actual breeding and farmers needs.

In the process, more and more like-minded partners joined the team, and gradually improved the R&D and operation team building. With enough rich talent reserves, we can better layout the central, east and south China markets and even the national market. The establishment of these three factories is only the first step in the future layout of our fishery and beauty.

Third, active expansion is inseparable from the output of human, material and financial resources. Regarding the financial aspect, with the good reputation and reputation established by Yumeikang, as well as our strong marketing capabilities, once we need to introduce external financing channels, I believe that there will be a lot of capital willing to give strong support. The reality is also the case, our short-term plan for the future is: under the premise that the three factories are operating smoothly, the next step will be to use the means of capital to quickly lay out 10 to 20 new factories in about three years.

Reporter: In addition to the feed plate, Yumeikang also has new plans in the seed plate, and the crab seed plate has achieved results. In April this year, it reached a preliminary cooperation intention with Academician Liu Shaojun, does it mean that Yumeikang will also usher in new changes in the seed plate?

Liu Shaochun: Seed is one of the key elements of aquaculture, and Yumeikang has always attached great importance to the development of the seed industry. However, due to the high technical threshold of breeding work, it is not possible for enterprises to achieve results through short-term investment. Therefore, our first choice is to cooperate with Academician Liu Shaojun and other professional breeding teams to assist the professional breeding team to promote the newly cultivated good seedlings, so that the majority of farmers and friends can contact better seedlings and enjoy the dividends brought by science and technology. After the seed promoted by our channel system, we will also have a special track record to ensure that it can "cash in on its talents".

For example, after a long period of tracking, we found that it grows fast, the bait coefficient is not high, and its disease resistance is also very good. There are such good seedlings, of course, should be promoted, we also have to use the channels and brand influence of Yumeikang to vigorously promote, so that the majority of farmers can benefit. Only by benefiting farmers can enterprises develop more smoothly.

Reporter: In the crab fry plate, what new things and changes will Yumeikang bring to us next year?

Liu Shaochun: At present, Yumeikang has been working on crab seedlings for three years. Our strength lies in the fact that we track the entire farming cycle from crab fry to adult crab. It takes 2 to 3 years to breed a complete cycle from white seed to buck crab to adult crab. From the tracking practice, we found that under the premise of similar breeding technology and management, feed, etc., there are differences between the quality, appearance and yield of good crab seedlings and the final adult crabs. This also strengthens our determination to insist on selecting the best among high-quality parents, cultivating high-quality crab seedlings, and sending high-quality crab seedlings to farmers. Being able to really help farmers improve the quality and yield of adult crabs is also an encouraging thing for me and my team, so we will continue to do it as always.

The "triple life gate" of the sustainable development of the enterprise, those who can't defeat you, will eventually make you stronger!

Reporter: From the time you led the team to found Yumeikang, after 8 years of leaping to become the head enterprise of China's animal protection, this is inseparable from your control of the lifeblood of enterprise development and your understanding of the aquatic industry. What kind of enterprise has eternal youth?

Liu Shaochun: I think it is very important to do a good job in these three things.

First, business capital lies in honest management.

In fact, Chinese enterprises pay attention to integrity a lot, but very few can do it. My initial expectation of Yumeikang was not to be a large enterprise, but to become a more positive enterprise in the population. It must be a company recognized in the hearts of dealers and farmers, with good faith and good products.

Integrity, though, may seem like a traditional virtue of "old age". However, it is easier said than done, and it is still very touching for people who can maintain integrity in this complicated society and enterprises that insist on operating in good faith. No matter how the future society develops, what kind of ups and downs the industry needs to experience in order to return to rationality and essence, I believe that in another ten or twenty years, China will improve its status in the international community and become strong in all aspects of China itself. It is no longer only about money, and it is no longer a heroic time to discuss whether the company is rich or not, and whether the scale is large or not. Those who are respected and trusted are still those enterprises that insist on operating in good faith.

Second, the cornerstone of the team is a clear goal.

Doing business is inseparable from forming a team, and if you want to build a good team, it is very important to establish the common goals of team members. "Brothers and sisters clearly settle accounts", even if people who are close to each other, cannot achieve 100% trust. But at least every member of Yumeikang can feel the value of their existence in this enterprise. Yu Mei Kang was established with the goal of making the aquatic industry better and better, even if our contribution is very small, but at least we have been acting, and we will continue to move towards this goal in the future. Reporter: What setbacks did Yumeikang encounter on the way to start a business? How did you resolve it, can you share it?

Liu Shaochun: It is important to look at setbacks objectively and maintain a mentality.

Setbacks exist objectively, and every business and even every family will encounter them. Setbacks don't have to be just bad. In the face of setbacks, the premise is that you must have your own clear goals, and when you set goals, you can clearly foresee the setbacks and sufferings you will experience on the way. From the height of a thousand buildings, the birth of an enterprise is like the birth of a person, and the process of growing up is bound to suffer a lot. So-called: "Eat bitterly, and be a good person." "The more hardships you suffer and the more difficulties you experience, the stronger this enterprise becomes." So in the face of these difficulties, we should not complain and avoid, but should face it positively and solve it. In this way, after the ups and downs, the team will become more and more tacit and the company will become more and more powerful.

In other words, a company that has not experienced wind and rain is not a healthy enterprise, the so-called rainbow after the wind and rain, the company that has not experienced hardships, even if it develops smoothly and rapidly, once it encounters setbacks, it is easy to fall into paralysis, people are the same, so we must look at setbacks objectively.
