It is said that even if the six pins of leaf ginseng are more precious ginseng, the wild ginseng that grows to the eight pin leaves is extremely precious, and later, people called this big mountain beam "eight pin leaf beam".

More than eighty years ago, after the Japanese invaders occupied Rehe (present-day Chengde), their ambitions to annex China became more and more inflated, and they unscrupulously pushed the war all the way south. Due to the large north-south barrier formed by the eight leaf beams, it naturally became a huge obstacle for the invading army to go south. Therefore, in order to open up this passage of southern expansion, they forcibly recruited the local people to work and forced people to work and build roads. Starting from the Xipinye of the Changhe Loop in the southeast of Xinglong County, the Eight Pinyeliang Road was built to cross the natural danger of more than 1200 meters above sea level. The terrain from the peak to the East Pin leaf section is extremely dangerous, the drop is large, the ditch is deep and the slope is steep, the layers are stacked, and the terrain is winding with the mountain, and the difficulty of road construction is very large. According to my father, when he participated in the construction of this dangerous road, a large stone stele was dug up in the Xichong section, on which was engraved the words "The Japanese build the road Chinese walk, and the corpses of the Japanese are fed to the Chinese dogs." When a small leader of the Japanese invading army who supervised the construction of the road saw it, he angrily picked up a sledgehammer and smashed the stone stele. There is no way to verify whether the story is true or false, but Liu Bowen's authentic inscription is at an altitude of 980 meters above sea level on the western slope of Wuling Mountain, the northernmost part of the Houlong Feng Shui Forbidden Land, and there is indeed a granite large-character stone carving, which is 31 meters long, 30 meters wide, 29 meters high, slightly round, and weighs about 70,000 tons. Each word 4 square meters of "Wuling Mountain Qingliangjie" six Lishu engraved large characters are clearly visible, the font is bold and free, vigorous and powerful, and now it has become a famous viewing spot in the Scenic Area of Wuling Mountain. This granite boulder, which stands alone, seems to fall from the sky, attracting many tourists who come to see it, and people are amazed after watching it.

I remember that when I was ten years old, my mother took me from my hometown of Nantianmen Niuquan Village to live in my grandmother's house in the Xiaodong District on the northern outskirts of Xinglong County, and once passed through this dangerous area. It was the mid-winter season of 1968, and it was the only shuttle bus from Hanglanyu to Xinglong County that took only one trip a day. Although the weather was very cold at that time, more than 20 passengers were standing in the carriage without a carport, and it was very happy to be able to get on the big car at that time. Starting from the west of the camp, the car traveled under the cliff, looking very thrilling. Sometimes I saw that there seemed to be no road in front of me, and I felt quite desperate, but when I drove to the steep wall of the stone ridge, I suddenly turned around and turned into another knife-like gap. Especially when crossing the first-line sky section of Shijingzi, the timid dare not open their eyes, the road cannot be seen in front of them, and in the gap between the two mountains, it is like a thin line hanging down from the sky, so it is called "a line of heaven". The car passed under a stone shed, and after a line of sky, it suddenly opened up and turned into a winding mountain road. The "big nose" old liberation truck is like an old cow, huffing and gasping for breath, slowly crawling upwards with difficulty.

This snake-like winding uphill road twists and turns, crosses the top of the eight leaf beams, and looks back at the infinite scenery at the dangerous peak. Later, in the early 1970s, in order to drive safely, shorten the dangerous road, and avoid the climbing section, the local government recruited migrant workers, fought for two years, and dug a tunnel of more than 200 meters in the upper half of the entire mountain, which greatly facilitated the passage and greatly improved the safety factor.

Now, the long-awaited wish has come true, and the state has invested heavily in finally opening a tunnel of more than 2,200 meters in the eight pin leaf beams from the root of the West Pin Ye Mountain to the foot of the East Pin Ye Mountain. In the past, it took at least 20 minutes to drive around the winding mountain road, but now it only takes two or three minutes to cross it. This road from the initial winding of the mountaintop, to the seventies through a short cave, and now to throw away the beams, the natural danger of changing the way, how not to make me feel excited, full of emotions.
