Yongtaimen ruins protection and display project

Today, Luoyang Public Resources Exchange Center released the Yongtaimen Ruins Protection and Display Project Design Bidding Announcement, the project site is located in the yingtianmen North Square area of the old city, the bidding number Luo Jianzhao 2022-010.

Project Introduction:

The project name is Yongtaimen Ruins Protection Exhibition Project Design. It includes yongtai gate and Qianyuanmen body protection display, water channels, environmental remediation projects (square and surrounding area landscape, comprehensive pipelines in the site), roads, night art lighting. The total area is about 57,000 square meters. After the road is rebuilt, the square will be expanded to 62,000 square meters (north to Zhongzhou Road, south to Yingtianmen, east to the west side of The Zhougong Temple and the Family Hospital of the Construction Machinery Factory, and west to Luoyang Daily Newspaper Distribution Company.

Scope of bidding: The content includes the current situation assessment and historical research, the protection and display project and the environmental remediation project (of which the environmental remediation project includes the landscape design of the square and the surrounding area, the design of the comprehensive pipeline in the site), as well as the site design of the Dingding Road Baotong Road after the repair, the design of the special concept of night lighting and other sub-items (for details, see Chapter 5 of the bidding documents).

Sui Tang Luoyang City Palace District

The Sui and Tang Dynasties Luoyang City Palace, that is, the part of the Luoyang City Imperial Palace during the Sui and Tang Dynasties, was built in the first year of the Sui Dynasty (605), and the Sui Dynasty named Ziwei City. In the sixth year of Zhenguan (632), the name was Luoyang Palace, and in the first year of the Wuhou Guangzhai (684), the Taichu Palace was the eastern capital of the Tang Dynasty. Sui Tang Luoyang City Palace, Ziwei City is nicknamed Ziwei City because it symbolizes the Ziwei Palace, the residence of the Heavenly Emperor.

Sui Tang Luoyang City Palace, covers an area of about 4.2 square kilometers, its main gate is YingtianMen, the main hall is Ming Hall; the three major halls are Qianyang Hall, Zhenguan Hall, Huiyou Hall, Qianyuan Gate, Yongtai Gate Ruins Protection and Display Project is located in the Sui Tang Luoyang City Palace District Ruins.

Qianyuan Gate is one of the palace gates in the Palace City of Luoyang (Ziwei City), the capital of the Tang Dynasty, with Hengjie Street outside the door, Rihua Gate (formerly known as Donghua Gate) in the east of the street, and Yuehua Gate (formerly known as Xihua Gate) in the west. The Qianyuanmen site, excavated in October-November 1988, is about 234 meters south of Miyagi Yingtianmen Gate, located in the southeast corner of the intersection of present-day Zhongzhou Road and Dingding Road, in the courtyard of Luoyang Construction Company.

"Qianyuan" is from "Yi Qian": "Great Qianyuan, the beginning of all materials, is the unification of heaven." Kong Yingda Shuo: "Qian is the name of the gua, and Yuan is the head of the Qiande." Zhu Xi's original meaning: "Qianyuan, the great beginning of Heavenly Virtue." Later, he used "Qianyuan" to describe the great virtue of the Son of Heaven.

At present, the Yingtianmen and Mingtang Heaven Protection and Display Projects in the Palace District of Luoyang City, Sui and Tang Dynasties have been completed, and the Xuanwumen Protection and Display Project is in preparation, looking forward to the day when the Xuanwumen Protection is completed!
