We know that once you deduct 12 points on your driver's license, it means you can no longer drive on the road. As a result, many people have repeatedly called for "reducing the penalty of deducting 12 points". In the newly revised "Measures for the Administration of Scoring of Road Traffic Safety Violations", your wishes may be realized.
* Point Adjustment: Increase 9 points, cancel 2 points
According to the newly revised Measures for the Administration of Scoring of Road Traffic Safety Violations, the scoring value of traffic violations in 2022 will be adjusted to 12 points, 9 points, 6 points, 3 points and 1 point.
Compared with the old version, 9 points have been added and 2 points have been deleted.
* Added 7 categories of violations with 9 points at a time
According to the new version of the Measures for the Administration of Scoring of Road Traffic Safety Violations, motor vehicle drivers have one of the following traffic violations and are deducted 9 points at a time:
(1) Driving a passenger car with 7 or more seats carrying more than 50% of the authorized number of people but not reaching 100%;
(2) Driving school buses, medium-sized or above passenger and cargo vehicles, or dangerous goods transport vehicles on roads other than highways or urban expressways that exceed the prescribed speed of more than 50% per hour;
(3) Driving a motor vehicle to illegally stop on a highway or urban expressway;
(4) Driving a motor vehicle that does not hang a motor vehicle number plate or deliberately obscures or defaces the number plate of a motor vehicle on the road;
(5) Driving a motor vehicle that does not conform to the type of quasi-driving vehicle;
(6) Driving a school bus without obtaining a school bus driving qualification;
(7) Continuously driving medium-sized passenger cars or dangerous goods transport vehicles for more than 4 hours without stopping for a break or stopping for less than 20 minutes.
It is not difficult to see that in the new version of the 9-point scoring behavior, except for Article 1, "Driving a passenger car with more than 7 seats to carry more than 50% of the approved number of people and not reaching 100% is a new 9-point provision" is a new 9-point deduction, the remaining 6 previous penalties are a one-time deduction of 12 points.
It can be said that this adjustment has reduced the punishment for illegal acts that were originally recorded with high scores. For example, the original deduction of 12 points at a time, such as "unsharped license plate/obscuring license plate number" and "driving is inconsistent with the quasi-driving type", after adjustment, became a deduction of 9 points at a time.
Although the score has been lowered, we still can't take these violations lightly.
Where did the violation of the old version of 2 points go?
In the new version of the scoring rules, the original score of 2 points at a time has been completely deleted. In the old version, there were 11 acts of 2 points at a time, and after adjustment, 4 violations were increased from 2 points to 3 points, namely: obstructing safe driving, forcibly adding/occupying the opposing lane, school bus pre-road safety inspection, school buses are not equipped with safety equipment; after adjustment, 3 violations were reduced from 2 points to 1 point; and 4 violations were directly deleted, all related to some precautions for school buses.
