Qin Will Record Baoji Girl Li Ting: Retired national player returns to the field to contribute to his hometown

My fingers can still move, my brain can still think; I have a lifelong pursuit of ideals, I have love and love for my relatives and friends; yes, I also have a grateful heart. - Hawking

On October 25, the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics sit-down volleyball project entered the fourth match day, the Shaanxi women's team defeated Liaoning 3:2, the Shaanxi men's team defeated Jilin team 3:0, and the Shaanxi men's team and women's team both won and lost twice, and are expected to advance to the final four.

In the women's team competition, the No. 2 athlete appeared to be very strong and kept cheering his teammates, she was Li Ting from Baoji. Li Ting, 32, lost her left calf in a traffic accident as a child. Around 2005, Li Ting began to practice swimming under the recommendation of the Disabled Persons' Federation, she was also the first batch of athletes of the Shaanxi Disabled Swimming Team, after several years of hard training, the results steadily improved, but because of the inflammation of her amputated calf, she could not continue to train in the water, she had no choice but to give up the swimming project.

In 2011, the Disabled Persons' Federation recommended Li Ting to Shanghai for sitting volleyball training. In 2016, Li Ting was selected for the Chinese seated women's volleyball national team to participate in the Rio Paralympic Games and won a silver medal with her teammates. After the Rio Paralympic Games, Li Ting chose to retire from the army, and then married and had children in Shanghai.

A few months before the start of this Special Olympics, Li Ting received a call from the Shaanxi Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, hoping that she could represent the Shaanxi team in the sit-down volleyball competition, and Li Ting, who had been retired for five years, agreed without the slightest hesitation and began to resume training. After the start of the Paralympic Games, Li Ting played for the Shaanxi team as the main force, and the current result is two wins and two losses.

Seated volleyball rules: Athletes must not leave the ground with their hips when they touch the ball

Seated volleyball is a sport of volleyball played by people with lower limb disabilities, using a five-game best-of-three system. Participants are required to compete by sitting on the floor of the field and moving. The seated volleyball competition field includes the playing field area and the barrier-free area, of which the playing field area is 10 meters long and 6 meters wide, except for the 6 athletes on the field, the substitute players and coaches must be in the barrier-free area. In addition, the net of sitting volleyball is much lower than that of healthy people, with a net height of 1.15 meters for men and 1.05 meters for women. The athlete's foot or leg is allowed to cross the midline to touch the opponent's field area without hindering the opponent's game.

Most of the athletes who participate in seated volleyball competitions have lower limb disabilities. One of the most important rules in the game is that the athlete must not leave the ground with his hips when touching the ball (a part between the hips and the shoulders must touch the ground), otherwise it will be considered a foul and the opponent will be awarded a score. Therefore, in order to prevent fouls, athletes use their arms to support their bodies but rub their hips against the ground and move.
