The Third Plenary Session of the Sixth Session of the 17th Municipal People's Congress was held on the afternoon of February 14.
Li Hongzhong, Liao Guoxun, Duan Chunhua, and Sheng Maolin attended.
Liang Baoming, executive chairman and executive chairman of the presidium of the conference, presided over the meeting. Also serving as executive chairmen of the conference were Li Hong, Ma Yanhe, Jia Fengshan, Zhu Baoping, Xu Nan, Li Dayong, Yang Wenxuan, Rui Yongling, Zhao Enhai, and Gao Pingwu.
The meeting voted to approve the list of chairmen of the Supervision and Judicial Committee, the Financial and Economic Committee, and the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the Seventeenth Municipal People's Congress; the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Seventeenth Municipal People's Congress, the by-election of members, and the chairman of the Municipal Supervision Commission were elected by secret ballot. After the counting of votes was completed, the presidium of the congress held its fourth meeting to listen to the reports of Sun Changshun and Wei Jihong, the directors of the congress, on the results of the election vote counting. The Bureau confirmed the validity of the elections.
Following the meeting of the Bureau, the third plenary meeting was resumed. Ma Shunqing, Yu Yunlin, and Zhao Fei were elected as vice chairmen of the Standing Committee of the 17th Tianjin Municipal People's Congress, Wang Zhiping, Wang Hongru, Wang Honghai, Lu Ziqiang, Yang Wenxuan, Yang Chunwu, and Gao Pingwu were elected as members of the Standing Committee of the 17th Tianjin Municipal People's Congress, and Chen Huikuan was elected chairman of the Tianjin Municipal Supervision Commission.
In accordance with the "Measures for the Implementation of the Constitutional Oath System in Tianjin Municipality," the newly elected vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and the chairman of the Municipal Supervision Commission, the chairman of the Supervision and Judicial Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, the chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee, and the chairman of the Ethnic, Religious, and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee, who were voted and approved, stood under the national emblem hanging at the venue and solemnly swore an oath to the Constitution. The newly elected members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress will organize a collective oath after the closing of the congress.
