According to football journalist Fichayers, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are closely watching chelsea and German striker Kay Havertz. Both Bundesliga giants are interested in bringing Havertz back to the Bundesliga this summer.
Havertz moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2020 after playing for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and quickly growing into a top-flight star. The German striker did not fare well in his first season with the Blues, but often broke the deadlock for Chelsea in key games, the most important of which was the winning goal against Manchester City in the Champions League final.
This season hasn't been fantastic for Havertz, who hasn't secured a Blues starting line-up under Tuchel due to health issues and increased competition. In his 28 appearances at Chelsea this season, the German has scored six goals and contributed four assists. This included the recently concluded Club World Cup final, when Havertz scored a key winning goal against Palmeiras.
Despite Havertz's valuable contribution, head coach Thomas Tutchell doesn't see him as a fixture for the team. That has led clubs across Europe to consider the possibility of buying the 22-year-old from Chelsea. Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are all watching Havertz's summer transfer.
Bayern Munich need to look for long-term replacements for Thomas Müller and Robert Lewandowski. For the Bundesliga giants, Havertz is an ideal choice as he has proven himself in the Bundesliga and has the ability to play multiple positions, but also to score and create goals.
For Borussia Dortmund, they need to find a new striker to lead the team and Haaland's future is in doubt. Marko Reuss will turn 33 at the start of next season, and his playing time will also need to be carefully managed, making a versatile and experienced player like Havertz a viable target for the Hornets.
In addition to the two German heavyweight clubs, Atletico Madrid is also looking for a replacement for Felix, who has been considered likely to leave Atletico after his poor performance in the Spanish capital.
While interest in the 22-year-old is on the rise, given his age, talent and potential, as well as stamford Bridge's investment in him, Chelsea are unlikely to have their star players away this summer. Havertz' contract with the club will last until the summer of 2025, with the Blues in a strong position in the negotiations to turn down any offers to Havertz.
