He also became the fourth Zhejiang ice and snow athlete to appear on the Beijing Winter Olympics after Du Jiani, Wu Zhitao and Ye Jielong, and the first person in Shaoxing to participate in the Winter Olympics.
Zhen Weijie, a native of Xinchang Huishan, studied at Caichun Elementary School, Seven Star Primary School, Seven Star Middle School and Technician College in Huishan Town, and was recruited into Xinchang Junior Sports School in September 2016, where he studied under Coach Liang Shaojie and specialized in taekwondo training.
In October 2018, he entered the national training team through cross-border cross-discipline and cross-season national selection, changed to ski jumping and professional training, and officially became an ice and snow athlete.
After switching to ice and snow sports, in 2019, he went to Finland for special platform jumping training and transferred to many european countries and regions for competition training, and Zhen Weijie achieved a series of breakthroughs. In 2019, he was awarded the fifth place in k28 individuals and the seventh place in k65 individuals in the Second National Youth Games, and was awarded the title of national first-class athlete. In 2019, he won the fourth place in the grass sliding team and the seventh place in the mixed team at the 14th National Winter Games. In 2020, he won the third place in the ski k90 team and the seventh place in the k90 mixed team at the 14th Winter Games, and won the title of athlete.
In 2021, at the National Ski Jumping Championships held in Laiyuan, Hebei Province, Zhen Weijie and his teammates won the first place in the men's team, which was the first time that a Shaoxing athlete won the championship at the National Ski Jumping Championships.
In addition to Zhen Weijie, Xinchang girl Wang Starling has also been following the ski jumping national team, participating in the women's ski jumping women's event as the women's first substitute and test jumper.
