After receiving the complaint, the Tianmen Branch of Chinese Min Bank asked Mr. Zhang to verify it on the spot and learned the truth. A search of the China Judgment Documents Network found that scams related to "credit repair" abound: criminals claim to be able to repair the credit report of the Credit Information Center of the People's Bank of China with money, some lose contact after charging high fees, some instigate individuals to use "non-malicious overdue" reasons to make unreasonable appeals, or use false materials and other illegal means to try to modify bad information, usually without refund or missing contact after the failure of the modification. Most of the business of the so-called "credit repair" institutions is material fraud, forged certificates, malicious complaints, and deception of banks.

Wuhan Anti-Fraud Center and the Business Department of Wuhan Branch of Chinese Min min bank recently jointly exposed 5 common "credit repair" scams. In addition to fraud directly targeting ordinary untrustworthy entities, there are also "credit training and certification" fraud against untrustworthy groups of entrepreneurs and employed people, "credit reporting franchise agent" fraud against entrepreneurial groups, "abnormal account" fraud and "loan cancellation" fraud against online shopping online loan groups, impersonating customer service personnel or financial institution staff.

Industry insiders said that in addition, there are two kinds of scams are also more common: one is to claim that it can be quickly loaned, after the parties are hooked, they are required to pay the "credit repair" fee on the grounds of poor credit records; the other is to claim that as long as a certain fee is paid, it can help the parties eliminate the online loan loan records, the principal and interest do not have to be returned, and will not be collected or sued.

Tang Dexin, deputy director of the Credit Information Management Department of the Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Minmin Bank, said that if individuals and enterprises have overdue credit cards or loans, fail to perform their guarantee obligations, and untrustworthiness is enforced, they will have bad credit records. Correct bad credit records will not be deleted or changed. The essence of the "credit reporting repair" scam is that lawbreakers use information subjects who do not understand credit reporting policies and regulations, deliberately confuse the concept of credit reporting objections to mislead, and use deceptive means to achieve their illegal profit-making purposes.

There are channels for the handling of credit reporting objections without intermediaries

In fact, if an individual believes that the information on his or her credit report is incorrect, he or she has the right to raise an objection to the credit reporting agency. Credit reporting agencies or banks need to verify and deal with them, and if there are errors, they will be corrected in a timely manner.

"When the liaison officer received 6 credit reporting objection consultations for more than half a year, two of which were indeed forgotten to repay due to personal negligence, and the overdue time was not long, I asked the customer to make an explanation and reported it to the credit reporting agency for record; the other obvious bad ones could be understood by the customer after the explanation." Tang Dexin said that the information required to raise a credit reporting objection is not complicated, and individuals can handle it with valid identity documents, enterprise legal persons themselves or entrust others to hold business licenses. "There is no need to go through intermediaries to raise credit reporting objections, and there is no charge." He said.

The "Regulations on the Administration of the Credit Reporting Industry" provide that where information subjects find that there are errors or omissions in the information collected, preserved, or provided by credit reporting establishments, they have the right to raise objections to the credit reporting establishments or information providers and request corrections. After credit reporting establishments or information providers receive credit reporting objections, they should conduct a review of the objection information, and where errors or omissions are found to exist, they shall correct them.

Tang Dexin said that the essence of credit reporting objections is "error correction", that is, correction or supplementation of erroneous or missing data, rather than credit remodeling after "untrustworthy behavior". Neither credit reporting agencies nor commercial banks or other information providers can modify or delete the correct credit information on credit reports.

The reporter learned that only the reporting institutions of credit information have the right to modify. At present, financial institutions have strict system processes and management requirements, monitor credit inquiry behavior, and prevent internal and external collusion and illegal deletion and modification of credit information.
