Beyond Frames and developer Cortopia recently announced a VR magic game called Wands Alliances, a sequel to Wands.
Wands Alliances doubled the focus of the original multiplayer mode, now allowing two teams of three to fight each other in magical battles. As with the original game, players will build their own arsenal of attack weapons, while also looking for cover to protect themselves. The game is set in Victorian London.
The original Wands first launched on Samsung GearVR in 2016 and has finally made its way to all major VR platforms over the years, most recently on Quest in 2019. Wands Alliances has not yet confirmed the PCVR and PSVR versions, but more information is expected to be released in a few weeks.
It is worth mentioning that Wands Alliances will be the third VR game for the core team of Cortopia Studios after the original game and Down the Rabbit Hole. The studio itself is part of VR publisher Beyond Frames, which also recently launched Spacefolk City.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Beyond Frames is an XR game publisher with development studios Cortopia, Moon Mode and partner Odd Raven. In addition to Cortopia's Wands, Beyond Frames is also known for releasing asynchronous co-op games Carly and the Reaperman, narrative adventures Down the Rabbit Hole, and city simulator Spacefolk City.
