According to the Mirror, Chelsea intend to introduce Brighton player Adam Webster in the summer window this year to improve the team's defensive strength.
Chelsea's contract extension negotiations with defenders including Rudiger, Christensen and Azpilicueta have yet to agree, and in order to cope with the possible loss of personnel, the team has set its sights on Webster, the 27-year-old Brighton defender who has been selected for the England national team.
Webster has played 16 games for Brighton in all competitions this season, scoring three goals. While Newcastle are also interested in Webster, qualifying for the Champions League could be a more attractive place for Chelsea.
