It's time to cast a spell on stick figures!

Founded by content creators Sam Wickert and Eric Leigh, creative studio SoKrispyMedia has created many short videos with high-quality visual effects.

Since they released their early work, Chalk Warfare 1, on YouTube eight years ago, the team has regularly released short videos that combine stunning visuals and graphics, including Stick Figure Battle, which has nearly 25 million views.

Now, stick figure stories continue soKrispyMedia's latest stickman wars presentation, relying on real-time rendering for realistic effects and optimizing creative workflows.

From stick figure graffiti on a paper airplane to a scene of a robot vs. skeleton on a sketchbook, rendering SoKrrispyMedia in real time boosts efficiency, viewing the final result faster and spending more time iterating, ensuring the visuals you want.

The team optimized the virtual production process by using Unreal Engine and dell Precision 7750 mobile workstations powered by NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 GPUs. Combined with high-quality cameras and Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve software, SoKrispyMedia produced a short film with unprecedented quality.

Real-time rendering for great visuals

By bringing real-time rendering into the authoring pipeline, SoKrispyMedia can work and iterate faster. Everything is generated in real time, without having to wait hundreds of hours for a render preview.

Micah Malinics, producer of SoKrispyMedia, said: "Looking back at past videos and using technology, it feels like we're writing with a pencil. As technology evolves, we are adding more and more colors to our color palette. ”

Many elements in the Stickman Wars video are drawn by hand, then scanned in Unreal Engine and converted into 2D or 3D graphics. The creators also developed a stylized filter that made certain elements look like crossed hatchbacks.

SoKrispyMedia uses Unreal Engine to render almost the entire movie in real time, which allows them to dig up more ideas and imagine endlessly without worrying about increasing rendering time.

Push the boundaries of creativity

NVIDIA RTX and Unreal Engine expand the scope of real-time rendering, and Blackmagic Design makes it easier to use high-quality cameras, allowing content creators to produce cinematic-quality work at a fraction of the cost.

In Stickman Wars, SoKrispyMedia used the Blackmagic URSA Mini G2 for creation, pocket Cinema Camera for shooting, and Micro Studio Camera 4K for top-down visuals. These cameras allowed the team to shoot video in 4K resolution and crop footage without losing any resolution in post-production.

NVIDIA GPUs dramatically accelerate playback and performance for Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, speeding up the editing workflow.

Sam Wickert, co-founder of SoKrispyMedia, said: "Five to ten years ago, making this video would have been incredibly tough. Now we can plug the Blackmagic camera directly into Unreal Engine and see the end result. Interactive and collaborative color grading and editing with Resolve Live features is fast and easy. Today, we're able to bring unprecedented richness to screens. ”

The SoKrispyMedia team leveraged the Dell Precision 7750 mobile workstation with RTX 5000 GPUs to enable content creators to work anytime, anywhere and preview live renderings on the spot. From DaVinci Resolve to render previews and final images, Dell workstation displays demonstrate superior color accuracy.
