She was the daughter of Paul I Petrovs and Maria Fidelos. Sister of Alexander I and Nicholas I. Anna Pavlova was born into the family of Grand Duke Paul Petrovsk of Russia and his wife Maria Fodorovna. After her father's death, she lived with her mother and two younger brothers, Nikolai and Mikhail, in Pavlovsk. Here, the young Grand Madame taught foreign languages, history, mathematics and science. In art, Anna studied music and painting.

She was in good shape, with a pair of lovely eyes, a gentle facial expression, a kind and pleasant appearance, and although she was not pretty, her gaze was full of kindness. Her temper was quiet and was said to be modest. Kindness gives her priority over the mind. She was already very good at guarding herself like a princess.

Anna Pavlova's husband, William Wilhelm II, William Frederick Georg Lordvik – King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Duke of Limburg. William I was the eldest son and successor of the King.
