Nanyang Building
Second Yi Building
These three tulou were all built by the Chiang family in the Qing Dynasty, among which the Eryi Building, known as the "King of Tulou", belongs to the double ring circular tulou, with 4 floors high on the outer ring and 1 floor in the inner ring. The building is divided into 16 units with a total of 213 rooms. It is one of the most well-preserved and historically valuable tulou.
Eryi Building constructs an exemplary combination of ancient strategic defense system and living space, integrating history, geography, architecture, military science, philosophy, aesthetics and folklore. The whole building pursues the unity of harmony between heaven and earth and people, and is a typical representative of Hua'an Tulou. With its distinct regional characteristics and special historical value, artistic value and scientific value, it occupies a special irreplaceable and important position in Fujian Tulou. In July 2008, it was officially inscribed on the World Cultural Heritage List.
