China Sports News On February 11, the short track speed skating event of the Beijing Winter Olympics decided the gold medal in the women's 1000 meters. Dutch star Shultin successfully defended his title, and three Chinese players Qu Chunyu, Han Yutong and Zhang Chutong stopped in the quarterfinals. In the men's 500m preliminaries, Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei and Sun Long all passed; in the men's 5000m relay semifinals, the Chinese team composed of Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei, Sun Long and Li Wenlong advanced to a thrilling way.

In the women's 1000m preliminaries on the 9th, Qu Chunyu and Han Yutong advanced to the top of their respective groups, and Zhang Chutong from the other group passed the level as one of the four fastest third places. In the quarterfinals played by the group on the 11th, Qu Chunyu and Han Yutong skated in the same group, skating 1:28.355 and 1:31.638 respectively, ranking third and fourth in the group. Zhang Chutong of the other group was third with 1:29.755. According to the rules, the top two in each group and the two fastest third places in each group in the quarter-finals qualify for the semi-finals. Three Chinese players were out early. Dutch star Schultin advanced to the first place in the group with a record-breaking 1:26.514.

In the semi-finals and finals, Schultin remained strong and successfully defended his title with a time of 1:28.39, South Korea's Choi Min-jing won the silver medal in 1:28.443, and Belgium's Demei won the bronze medal.

In the men's 500m preliminaries on the same day, China's Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei and Sun Long jointly competed. Wu Dajing and Ren Ziwei successfully advanced as the first place in their respective groups, and Sun Long in the other group was sentenced for fouls by his opponents.

The men's 5,000m relay semi-finals were played in two groups, with China in the same group as Italy, Canada and Japan. Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei, Sun Long and Li Wenlong represented the Chinese team. In the 11th to last lap of the game, young player Li Wenlong accidentally fell, after which the Chinese team did not give up, but chased closely. At the end of the match, the referee ruled that during the match, the Canadian player's knife tip hit Li Wenlong's ice knife, and according to the rules, the Chinese team qualified for the final. The canadian and Italian teams in the same group advanced as the previous two. The other group to advance to the final were South Korea and the Russian Olympic Committee. (End)
