According to the notice, in 2021, the State Administration for Market Supervision organized a national supervision and random inspection of the quality of glasses products. This time, 702 batches of products produced by 702 enterprises were sampled, involving 4 kinds of glasses products such as old-sighted glasses, sunglasses, glasses lenses, and spectacle frames. After inspection, 45 batches of products were found to be unqualified, and the unqualified discovery rate was 6.4%.
Among them, the non-conforming discovery rate of sunglasses was the highest, at 9.1%. The circular mentioned that the spot check of sunglasses products was a sampling in the circulation field, and 209 batches of products produced by 209 enterprises in 8 provinces (cities) were randomly inspected, of which 1 batch of products was suspected of counterfeiting and 19 batches of products were unqualified. The non-conforming items relate to the visible light transmission ratio, the relative deviation of the light transmission ratio, the frame requirements (sweat corrosion resistance), the lens material and surface quality, and the solar ultraviolet A-band transmission ratio. After analysis by technical institutions, the main reason for the unqualified is the poor quality of the raw materials selected by the production enterprises, the quality control of the purchased lenses is not strict, the manufacturing process accuracy is not enough, and the products do not meet the design needs and standard requirements.
