Not constrained by flagship ideas
In the decades of vigorous development in the audio industry, countless brands have achieved double improvements in technology and quality, creating a large number of their own top flagship products, and leaving many shining marks for the audio industry. Although flagship products represent the image and strength of the brand, sub-advanced, intermediate and even entry-level products are the backbone of bringing huge sales and profits to manufacturers, so although each brand will not ignore the design and quality of secondary products, there will be differences. For example, some brands will be more casual, the design and concept of flagship products to be some deletion and downgrading, applied to secondary products, which of course is not to blame; but there are also more persistent brands, in the secondary products are also meticulous, not restricted and restricted by the flagship product concept, completely to create a new high-quality product goal to do design. Compared with the two, the latter is obviously more respectable, and the brand to be contacted this time belongs to the latter type.

Pursuit of detail and innovative design
The Audio Physic brand is from Germany, and its history has been more than 30 years, and it is one of the few Hi-End speaker brands in the industry with the ability to make its own units. Audio Physic believes that if the speakers do not have a complete restoration of the details, then there is no way to connect the listener and the music itself. Because of this, Audio Physic has always regarded the following sentence as the credo of advanced speaker development, design and manufacturing: No loss of fine detail. Audio Physic in the pursuit of speaker details at the same time, is the sound as a whole to look at, in order to achieve this purpose, innovative design is naturally essential, and Audio Physic also constantly emphasizes: never fall into the mainstream cliché. Audio Physic's historical milestone products are good examples, such as MEDEA with "bending wave" technology drivers, KRONOS using complex coaxial drives, etc., and CARDEAS with HHC-II drivers, whose basic design is still used today.
Audio Physic's loudspeakers have great advantages brought about by the same basic design, such as: the depth of the cabinet is much greater than the width of the panel (easy to position, not limited by the distance against the wall, and reduces the diffraction of the sound wave, ensuring the wide and natural sound field), the box with a backward angle of 7 degrees (the physical sound center of all the units on the panel is on the same vertical line, ensuring the phase consistency of the sound waves in the full frequency band, and helping to suppress the low-frequency standing wave in the box), and a lateral sound woofer located in a separate cabinet.
The lateral sound woofer is the signature design
Audio Physic believes that low-frequency signals are not directional, and the woofer does not have to be specifically oriented toward the listener. Another important reason is that the large-caliber woofer will emit strong vibration when working, if it is installed on the front barrier, then the vibration energy of the woofer will inevitably cause the entire front barrier to vibrate, and this vibration will affect the same version of the high-frequency unit installed in the front version, and eventually cause the medium and high frequency is not pure enough, not condensed enough. Especially for high-frequency signals with strong directivity, any slight vibration of the tweeter will lead to the blur of the tweeter signal. Therefore, Audio Physic's solution is to install the woofer on the side of the cabinet to avoid the problems that this vibration can cause.
However, Audio Physic is not obsessed with the lateral sound subwoofer, in the intermediate Classic series, Audio Physic has achieved self-breakthrough and made a new design.
↗ Woofer
Built-in diagonally downward sound woofer
There are several products in the Classic series, this time facing the Classic20 floorstanding speakers in the mid-range. The design of the box is relatively slender and slender, which is quite in line with the contemporary aesthetic style. In addition, Audio Physic's iconic depth is much deeper than the width of the panel, and the backslash and backplanes need not be said. Audio Physic believes that the speaker box has a decisive influence on sound performance, so in order to achieve a neutral and stainless sound, the Classic 20 speaker box is composed of a variety of materials in a sandwich structure, the outer layer is made of 12mm thick MDF medium density plate with appropriate damping characteristics, and the middle layer is a 2mm thick "closed-cell high-tech acrylate resin" material, so that the combination of cabinet materials can effectively absorb and isolate external vibrations, with the connection layer between different materials , you can convert vibration into thermal energy, ensuring the purity and stability of the sound.
↗ Midrange unit
The Classic 20 speaker differs from the rest of the series in the same factory in that, like the Classic30 and Classic 10, it no longer uses a lateral sound woofer, but is placed inside the cabinet, in a separate cavity, and the unit diaphragm is also diagonally downward, and low-frequency sound waves are projected to the ground through the opening at the bottom of the cabinet. The advantages of this design are that from the appearance, the side of the cabinet has a stronger sense of unity and is more beautiful; the second is that the woofer works in a separate space, and its vibration will not affect the components of the surrounding box; the third is the way of oblique sound, and the reverse sound wave is more easily controlled. Audio Physic believes that such a design can make low frequencies more precise and powerful, while also making the details of medium and high frequencies clearer and richer. In fact, in the past listening experience, the sound performance of audio physico's lateral sound subwoofer has been quite amazing, and now Audio Physic does not stick to the past achievements, continues to seek new breakthroughs, so the attitude to the product is commendable!
↗ Tweeter
As can be seen from the manufacturer's schematic diagram, the Classic 20 speaker, like the top model of the same factory, also adopts a specially designed box reinforcement structure, the inside of the box is divided into multiple independent spaces by multiple partitions and stiffeners, and the high, medium and subwoofers are located in separate chambers to avoid mutual interference. The Classic 20 features a 3-cell, 3-way design, and in addition to the previously mentioned built-in 180mm diameter woofer, it also features a 150mm diameter midrange unit and a 30mm diameter tweeter. The midrange unit adopts a paper basin diaphragm with reinforced fibers, with a fixed phase plug to achieve a neutral natural performance rare in the same level; the tweeter adopts a woven dome diaphragm, the basin frame around the diaphragm is in the shape of a small horn, and the felt around the diaphragm is radially star-shaped, which helps to achieve stronger consistency and wider angle sound wave projection.
Soft and warm tones are pleasing
In the past, when I tried out audio physic's more high-end speaker models, I was impressed by its neutral, precise, balanced, and objective sound. However, if this time you still take the impression of the past to "slip" on top of the Classic 20 speakers, it is really wrong. Surprisingly, the Classic 20 speakers have added a little soft and warm tone under the premise of maintaining a neutral and balanced basic sound base, which greatly improves the "good sound". When playing "Emerson String Quartet DG Recordings", the violin sound appears soft and ethereal, and the rich and full details are tinged with a hint of refreshing sweetness, which makes people shake their heads and shake their heads in joy. The bass area of the cello is gentle and delicate, and there is a little fluttering jump in the elasticity and strength. I have to admit that this is a useful addition to the neutral tone, no matter what kind of peripheral equipment is matched or what type of music is played, it will not be easy to appear bad sounds, and the adaptation is quite wide.
Playing Shostakovich's Piano Trio and Viola Sonata, the Classic 20 loudspeaker shows a piano that is not as serious and authoritative as the high-end model, it is in a more stressful and acceptable way: the tone is bright and shiny, the keys are very stable but do not appear wooden, the resonance of the case is strong but there is no excessive sense of weight, the sense of separation when the high and low notes are played at the same time is very clear, and it will not be mixed together. Overall it was a very relaxing performance.
On the Classic 20 speaker, I saw audio physic's self-breakthrough achievements, and the aesthetic sound that is different from the traditional perception will surely make it have more fans.
