The Queen's Game

Director: Carolyn Portaro Starring: Jennifer Beers
Set in a small village on the island of Corsica, where Helena (Sandrine Bonnaire) lives an isolated life with her husband and children, Helena seems to be missing nothing in her life. By chance, Helena saw an American couple playing chess in an open-air coffee shop, and the black-and-white board and the different shapes of chess pieces soon attracted Helena's attention, and she began to indulge in the game like crazy.
Also fond of chess is Kong Ge (Kevin Kline), who lives in the same village, and with Kong Ge's help, Helena bets her infinite imagination on the board, finding infinite possibilities in the complicated rules. Over time, chess gradually changed Helena's life.
