2021 is Liu Yu's harvest year.
When the spring was cold, Liu Yu appeared on the competition stage in a white dress, and with the light and melodious music, he interpreted a "Big Fish". It was his beloved Chinese dance and the first time he performed his own choreographed dance on stage. A dance that amazes four seats, perhaps he also feels something, which is the prelude to his new life in the future.
The attention of the mountain hu tsunami arrived as scheduled, and more aspects of the emerging national style teenagers were excavated, analyzed, and studied. At the same time, he also became the captain of the rising INTO1, with more responsibility. "I gained a lot in 2021, a heart that is not so strong has become a very strong heart, and I have become more mature, calm and more responsible."
In this network atmosphere where "lying flat" is supreme and "true temperament" is pleasing, Liu Yu is like an outlier, keeping a simple and clumsy effort, decent sincerity, and trying his best to cultivate a "perfect merit". The teacher said that he was talented and perceptive, and he repeatedly said: "Diligence can make up for clumsiness." ”
He took "let Chinese culture be seen by more people" as his ideal, dressed in Hanfu, participated in the "National Style Ceremony", and told the audience the origin and story behind those Chinese clothes. During the journey of filming the documentary "Sound Journey", he and his teammates saw the grandeur of the Guangzhou lion dance, the ingenuity of Ningxia ancient porcelain, and the fireworks of Chongqing Well... And the perception of Chinese culture is integrated into their music and dance.
"Ten Thousand Miles" is returned to the sound, "Dianjing" is a dance, as he said, the national style and positive energy are his eternal persistence. And the future has only just begun.
The following is Liu Yu's narration -
Excited inside, cautious in mind
2021 has been a wonderful year for me, and the most important moment is to be a part of INTO1.
Before attending the show I thought a lot, like am I suitable for this show? Will it be accepted by everyone? Is there anyone who will like me? At that time, I didn't know if I did it right, but now that I look back, I am very grateful to myself at that time. This decision made me have a lot of unexpected gains.
For more than half a year, I have entered a completely new state. I used to stand alone in front of the stage, and now I have teammates. We lived together, created together, participated in events together, and experienced many important moments. I feel very fortunate to have met a very good and kind partner.
When I encounter difficult moments, there will be many people who will help me, and I rarely feel lonely, because there are always friends who can share and communicate. Because of this, I gradually began to express myself more actively and communicate with others with sincerity. Whether it is in the face of work or life, I have become more powerful and warmer.
Becoming the captain of INTO1 is both a recognition and a great trust, and I am honored and feel a heavy responsibility. For my teammates, I'm used to taking care of them and protecting them from all sides, and that's what I should do. For example, the simplest, they may have some unclear expressions in the face of the audience and the media due to language relations, and I will help them improve their language expressions.
Being known and understood by more people through the program, and being able to use their own strength to care for and help others, I feel very valuable, for me is both recognition and pressure. In fact, since I officially started my career in literature and art, the pressure has been growing with me. In the process of gradually increasing stress, I also gradually felt that my energy was getting bigger and bigger.
To bear the attention of more people, you must be careful in your words and deeds. Before doing something, I always think about what are the consequences of saying this, singing this song, taking this picture or recording this video, and whether the impact is positive or negative. Take one step and think about ten steps, as long as you insist on doing it, I think it is not a difficult thing to do.
Even so, I sometimes encounter disturbances from outside public opinion, and it is difficult to reverse it by my own efforts for a while, and I will be affected a little. However, I believe that "striking iron also needs to be hard", as long as it acts honestly, it is not afraid of public opinion. Works that come up with real materials are, after all, more powerful than gossip.
I am a person with a strong desire to explore and curiosity, and I like to try new things, hoping to change myself and break through myself and explore more possibilities. Over the past year, my desire to challenge new things has become stronger and braver, and I am now more and more afraid to try things that I have not tried.
At supernova games, I was involved in projects that were difficult for me to reach in the past. Shooting and archery, for example, are very testing people's patience and concentration, and require day-to-day training and constant progress on a track, which also has some similarities with dancing. After participating in the show, I also wanted to buy my own bow and shoot arrows when I had time, which was very interesting.
In the face of new circumstances and circumstances, my heart is more excited, of course, a little afraid. For me, new challenges inspire me more and more, and caution is my way of preparing myself for the challenge. I want to keep my heart excited, my mind cautious, and I want to meet the challenge.
Cultural style, fusion of creation
One of the most honored things for me this year is that many people have come into contact with and liked Chinese dance through me. They grew up with me and learned more about traditional Chinese culture, which made me feel that my value has been greatly improved.
In this industry, what I have always insisted on is to let Chinese culture be seen by more people. As Liu Yu himself, I participated in the "National Wind Ceremony" and also participated in many Hanfu promotion activities; as a group of INTO1, we shoulder the identity of "Intangible Cultural Heritage Star Push official", "Sanxingdui culture international promotion experience officer", "Protection of the Great Wall image ambassador" and other identities, hoping that through us, we will strive to make everyone pay attention to these traditional Chinese cultures.
This time, the second EP of INTO1, "Wanli", we will set our sights on the vast land of the motherland and look for inspiration in the traditional culture of different cities. The documentary "Sound Journey" records our entire process of collecting wind. Participating in the filming of this documentary is of great significance to me and has had a great impact on me. On the way, I not only gained happiness, touch, and gratitude, but also deepened my understanding of Chinese culture.
During the trip, I witnessed the different cultures that have been nurtured in various parts of China. We experienced the production of intangible cultural heritage such as Western Xia porcelain, clay wa woo and so on, and felt the vigorous vitality of Chinese culture in the vast land, which made me have a stronger desire and mission to inherit and carry forward traditional culture.
Against the backdrop of magnificent scenery, this experience of zero-distance contact with traditional culture is something that cannot be forgotten in this lifetime, and it also injects a rich inspiration into our music. Rooted in the land of China, with the feeling of earthy fragrance, I believe that it can get the empathy of the audience; and the integration of national style elements and modern music can also allow more people to understand our cultural landscape.
The complete and satisfactory musical works are inseparable from the joint efforts of the team and the producers and teachers, and the reason for the filming of "Sound Journey" is to record the source of inspiration for the work and to fully show the behind-the-scenes story of music production.
In my opinion, the relationship between the front and behind the stage is one, the former is experience, feeling and practice, the latter is combing, transposition and balance, the two complement each other, and finally create a work that touches people's hearts. Just as the so-called "one minute on stage, ten years offstage", although the materials are magnificent and colorful, if there is no hard preparation and production behind the scenes, the audience will not see the wonderful effects in the work.
I said when I was collecting wind, "No matter how good the camera is, it can't match the naked eye." "But the beautiful scenery also needs to be recorded and presented to everyone." The stage premiere of "Dianjing" has been seen by everyone, and the addition of the elements of the traditional Chinese dragon and lion dance is the national style stage that I have always wanted to present. For me, the creation of musical works is just the beginning, and the next more important thing is how to break through yourself, surpass yourself, and bring a more extreme stage to the audience.
AS a team that has just entered the public eye, INTO1 also needs to make more people pay attention to us through continuous efforts. I hope that the world can see us and see the Chinese culture that we want to pass on.
Where the heart desires, the past
I learned to dance at the age of 4, grew up in a dance classroom, and when I was a child, my dream was to be a dance teacher, and when I was in middle school, I realized it a little. I am very grateful for the opportunity at that time, which allowed me to experience the hard work of the teacher.
Later, my dance career has been tossed several times, and now for me, dance is the starting point of my career and the opportunity to achieve my ideals. I fell in love with traditional Chinese culture during my day-to-day study of Chinese dance, and through dance, I let everyone know and remember me. It was in the process of completing my career that I found my ideals.
In reality, many people may face a situation where they cannot have both, and they respect their inner choices and work in one of them, which is also worthy of respect. I am fortunate that the career I choose at the moment is what I like, and my career and ideals are one in my heart and can grow together.
I once said that the national style and positive energy are the things I will insist on all my life. Now, my biggest ideal is to stand on a bigger and farther stage, promote traditional Chinese culture, let more traditional culture and modern culture integrate, and collide with more excellent works.
But to achieve the ideal, we must act. I am a person who can't be idle, no matter what kind of work I want to do my best, people often say that I will "roll" up unconsciously. But I think that as long as it is not vicious competition, proper comparison and pressure can stimulate human potential.
Every time I work, the feedback from the teacher and the audience will tell me whether I am improving or regressing, just like every time I dance, I can feel whether I have realized more potential. This feedback from the outside or inside of my body is often very real, and I often use it to spur myself on, turning them into a driving force for me to move forward.
The ideal in my understanding is the hope and sustenance for life, and it is also the force that supports me to continue to struggle and strive forward. So, even in the face of many difficulties and hardships, I am very sure that I can bravely move forward in any situation.
I don't want to set a time node for the realization of the ideal, people may have more than one ideal, chasing the ideal is my lifelong pursuit, I will continue to work hard towards my goal.
I also don't think there is a shortcut to achieving the ideal, hard work is a compulsory course, just like I learned dance from a young age, I have to work hard to practice, and no day dares to slacken off. So in my opinion, the effort to achieve the ideal needs to be accumulated day after day, measured in a lifetime.
The recently released "Lion Boy" has brought me a lot of inspiration, this is a very good chinese comic film work, after watching it, my blood is boiling, and my heart is full of strength and pride. In the movie, I saw the tenacious "lion" spirit of Chinese teenagers, and in the future, I also want to be like this group of teenagers, constantly overcoming the difficulties brought by reality, bringing Chinese culture to the vast stage, and also illuminating their own lives.
The courage not to be afraid and not to shrink back in the face of difficulties, the determination not to be proud and impetuous to succeed, the spiritual source when hungry, the sprint belt on the running road... For me, this is what the ideal means to life.
Standing on this ideal shore, at the crossroads of destiny, I want to tell my future self: I hope you can chase boldly, look at the wider sky, and find a stronger self!
