In April 2021, Volkswagen demonstrated the latest evolutionary phase of the sixth-generation Polo. Now the most sporty version of it has emerged: the new Polo GTI. The holder of the legendary acronym leads the Polo segment in terms of performance, technology, and sportiness. The powerful TSI engine and sport chassis tailored specifically for the Volkswagen Polo GTI transformed the best-selling compact car into a dynamic four-door sports car, which also allowed the Polo GTI to include semi-autonomous driving as an option for the first time. A range of assistive systems of the latest generation guarantee greater comfort and safety for all passengers.
In the automotive world, there are three letters that have had a magical sound for nearly fifty years: GTI. Since the launch of the GTI in 1976, Volkswagen has ensured that this specification is synonymous with superior driving pleasure in the compact segment. Since 1998, the Polo has been taking the acronym GTI – the third model after golf and Scirocco. The latest generation seamlessly continues GTI's illustrious tradition and sets a new benchmark for compact cars. The technical base in this regard is provided by Volkswagen's Modular Lateral Toolkit (MQB). In all car series, the MQB stands for technological advancements, high body rigidity, typical low weight and very good crash performance.
